Nigerians on twitter berate Fashola for drop in power supply

Nigerians on twitter are berating Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, for the drop in power supply all over the country. Nigerians feel Fashola has performed below expectation.

They are also berating him for not immediately suspending the license of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company whose staff are presently on strike after 400 of their colleagues were laid off for failing their competence test. The strike action has thrown Lagos and its environs into darkness for 4 days now. See more tweets after the cut...

Lol could remember when the former minister of power said we need prayers to chase away the evil spirits disrupting our power sector.
There are many issues with our power generation, from cut in gas supply due to frequent vandalization, to strike actions.
I still trust Fashola to deliver.

Some of the pple on this Platform are arguably the most myopic ignoramus i v Seen in my life. What do u expect the minister of power to do When u pple keep blowing up gas pipelines that leads to power plants. Maybe they think power plants run on urine (Piss) and that Fashola cld as easily just provide Such. More dan 60per of Naija power plants depends on gas so everyone shd leave Fashola n blame der brothers n sisters nationwide who keep blowing up National assets. Make una wake up jor. Fake pple.

Fashola has always been overrated. You praised him for simple things, Linda. Now we know he can't handle anything more complex than patching a hole on the streets of Lagos.

As much as I undestand T.D Jakes this morning truth, Average Nigerians are CONSTITUENT FRIENDS!!! Especially the youths' always Inconsistent, judgemental and lack the skills to make research to find out the truths about anything and that's d reason we aren't progressing. Instead of you to make constructive criticism, devise solutions to the present day situations na only noise una fit make for social media.

Govt share a lot of blame in this black out, so does the people as well. We need to appeal to our brothers in the Niger-Delta to stop blowing pipe line, that is also another contributing factor. How can workers of this IKEC or whatever its called embark on strike because those who failed competent test were laid off. Our labour needs to stop abusing the power given to them, strike shouldn't be embarked on at every instances. Govt needs to look into this matter immediately.

You have all seen it that there is no magic the apc government can perform. They where shouting as if they have something to offer. Now the picture is becoming clearer to every Nigerian that they can't perform. No light and yet people are receiving electricity bill as if we are having 24 hours electricity supply. Buhari, I thought you promised us a better life. Oh God please come to our rescue

Anonymous 12:54;

Rather harsh to make such a comment! Geez...

Anonymous said...

I think we all need to understand that so called Power Holding had been privatized during last regime. Let forget about political party now. He is a Minister and he does not have all power to regulate power supply. They just need a round table discussion.

Anonymous said...

Because your was a thief does not mean every one else is. But of course you would not know that ad you are ignorant and believe every propaganda you read

Unknown said...

God bless u!!

It is quite obvious that half the population of Nigerians are illiterate, Babatunde Fashola inherited challenges which he had to deal with before, any realistic changes can be seen. Bear in mind that he only took up office in October. Nigerians expect miracles.

Like I have always said, Fashola and APC did not promise anyone magic, they promised "change", for Christ sakes people this change is in reparation of things that have been spoilt for a lot of years, change is gradual and sometimes painful, but better in the end. So suck it up u guys and lift them up in prayer rather than complain. Cos der will be more, trust me guys.

Unknown said...

True true.

Unknown said...

Rubbish. It is irresponsible for the government to blame vandals. They were elected to tackle that problem. May be they should go back to OPC and Niger Delta militants to guard the Pipelines. Jonathan was successful with them. I thought Buhari says the Police can guard the pipelines? Is he now saying they cannot??

Unknown said...

Rubbish! He knew they were privatised when he was promising electricity during the elections!

Anonymous said...

What challenges? Is he not a part owner of EKDC and Ikeja Disco? Also Egbin power station?

Anonymous said...

You are a typical Nigerian! You expect nothing! Did they not know the challenges when they were making th promises?? They did not tell us then not to expect miracles!
