Video: Nigerian man creates scene with UK Police at train station.. he tried to resist arrest & they assaulted him
This happened at St Pancras station in the UK. Don't know what the man did but when they tried to arrest him, he resisted and created a scene. One of the policemen hit him severally with his baton. Watch above and tell us what you think of the video
What I think of the video is that he should come back home.. To live in obodo Oyibo is not by force. We need to develop our own country if only baba Ajala will travel less..
I think that NIGERIAN man needs to be hit again severally with that baton..Once the cops pull you over, don't even dare to resist arrest else they'll treat your fuck up and you'll wish u just obeyed them at once.
Na wah oh why he come be stubborn did he think that the place is Nigeria that terrorist buhari has turn there system into broad day light zombie. The dude must be ibo because they are always stubborn thou the embecilic police fool went too. Nigerians na m..t..n ever were u go all because de no want to see terrorist buhari scam government.
Na wah o. Dey really maltreated this man, only God knows what he did. They dint even hear him out n I pity him the more coz they ll press so many charges against him. The way they treat Nigerians in foreign country en!
Well, he should nt have resisted arrest. I know it's painful when u haven't done anything wrong. I'm a student in d uk on nigerian scholarship (although we haven't been paid a dime). I applied to a care company to work as carer for old people. I went to d interview n was told to pay 50pounds for dbs check which I did n den I was called for d training. During d training today I dozed off a bit. during break d trainer called me n told me to leave dt I wasn't fit for d training. I tried to explain that I stayed up a bit late in d library last night. He got pissed he said he s being fair by not embarrassing me in front other trainees n I should leave and not come back for d training tomorrow. I was d only black trainee. Now I have no job n my 50 pounds is gone.i feel so fustrated.
So annoying they come over here solicit for our money by making us come school in uk just to boost there economy. Then they end up assaulting us and stripping us of our basic human right.. we are just mental slaves to them. . The earlier we wakeup d better for us..
As a law student, I believe that what the officers are doing to him is reasonable. It is a statutory offence to resist arrest. If he simply conformed and followed the officers, it would have saved him the embarrassment. The officers using their baton on him is reasonable when someone forcefully tries to resist arrest. All he did was to cause a scene for no apparent reason.
Why would the police treat him like that? That's wrong. He already said he was gonna go with them. That's nonsense, no matter what. All those UK police dey over do sometimes.
Dont really know why they are treating him that way,,,, but the guy would have just simple followed them. In the UK they are lawyers that can stand for you for free
They are doing way too much, if hasnt committed a crime I see no reason why he should be handcuffed , he could have followed them and not have to be treated like an animal. They overuse their power
He get luck ,if na US police he would be on the ground since and blood self, what!!!! You guys remember how one guy dead in new York in June 2014, oyea they can't waste time and a black guy for that matter,
Nigerians has problem to obey simple instructions , go on ur kneels and save ur self of disgrace, then when u get to their station u can explain ur self better if truly u are not a criminal, but OGUN kill all those POLICE men o for treating my fellow country man like that. Mitcheeeeeeeeeeeew #lindaseemee
Oh my God am so angry at dis right now, am sure he did nothing to warrant dis I'll treatment, his only offence might just be cos his a black and from nigeria
Get down on the damn floor and follow them to their station or wherever you can explain that you're not a criminal! WTF! What were you expecting shouting 'im not a criminal' like the police are just going to leave u and walk away??? Ugh! Africaaaaans!!!! Zoo monkeys!
Oh my God am so angry at dis right now, am sure he did nothing to warrant dis I'll treatment, his only offence might just be cos his a black and from nigeria
It clear he has lived dere for a while he should know better and followed the officers first but that been said the officers stepped over board by been violent and strong belive in the race card ere.
The man was simply demanding why he was being arrested. Over there you don't just make an arrest, you gotta tell him what you're arresting him for. He said he was gonna go with them but they should tell him what he's done wrong. And you don't go around hitting someone with your baton like that telling him to lie down, he's got rights.
Totally unacceptable. Even the criminals arrested for the Hatton garden heist was treated with respect and dignity. Hard to look past the color of his skin/ accent being the reason he was treated this way. This Gentleman deserves justice.
Civilized police. Simple instruction, move..., police on different occasions might have a security alert, obey menh and prove ur innocence. If it was your country police, you might be in the general hospital now. I have also been interrupted at rail stations and clubs as well.
THAT WAS FXXXXXX QUEEN'S LAND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, WHATEVER IT IS THAT GUY MUST HAVE DONE, THE OFFICER WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HIT HIM WITH BATON. THE LAST RESORT OF CALLING FOR REENFORCEMENT ESCHEW THE CORP FROM USING EXCESSIVE POWER. THERE IS A BIG LAWSUIT IF THAT HAPPENED IN USA, BUT I DUNNO I DUNNO WHAT ENGLISH FOLKS DO.
Overly dramatic guy, he resisted arrest continuously. The UK police treated him fairly. It would have been an entirely different experience for him if he was in the U.S. "Down on the floor" and he was still standing and making a scene. What point was he trying to make exactly? The police are authorized to use reasonable force to subdue anyone resisting arrest and in my opinion the police here did next to nothing but hang about waiting for him to calm down from his tantrums. This is a drama queen making a mountain out of a mole hill, he was uncorporative and there is absolutely Nothing to see here but fantastic police work.
He shouldn't have restricted arrest. If your hands are clean and police men stop you anywhere in the world you obey them. When you resist they think you have something to hide.
That Nigerian man should be careful. he would've gotten shoot if that was in American city because the police wouldn't will not take that sh#t from him. you dont need to be criminal to be arrested anywhere in the world.
Anonymous 12.22am why should they ask him to get down on the floor? Would they do that if he were white? I agree that he was stupid to do the crime if he knew he would not be able to do the time however, they had no business asking him to get down on the ground abeg. Anyway that's a lesson to the idiotic Nigerians that are hell bent on giving us a bad name. You have spoilt your own system, you want to go and destroy another person's own too. Linda please check the meaning of 'severally' before you use it. It was wrong in the context you intended it.
HomeCrime, justice and the lawYour rights and the law Police powers of arrest: your rights To arrest you the police need reasonable grounds to suspect you’re involved in a crime for which your arrest is necessary. The police have powers to arrest you anywhere and at any time, including on the street, at home or at work.
The police arrest procedure If you’re arrested the police must:
identify themselves as the police tell you that you’re being arrested tell you what crime they think you’ve committed explain why it’s necessary to arrest you explain to you that you’re not free to leave If you’re under 17 the police should only arrest you at school if it’s unavoidable, and they must inform your headteacher.
The police must also contact your parents, guardian or carer as soon as possible after your arrival at the police station.
Police powers to use reasonable force If you try to escape or become violent, the police can use ‘reasonable force’, eg holding you down so you can’t run off.
You can also be handcuffed.
The guy has not committed any offence against the law

lets be fair in our judgement please. its so clear from the video that the guy was not resisting arrest neither was he threatening them with violence of any kind so why should he lie down on the floor like he was some dangerous criminal. They should have reserved all their tough speak and baton bashing for their lazy and jobless tax exempt folks here. From the look of things it seems the guy was only trying to get to work.
His offence was not getting a train ticket. He didn't resist arrest. He was asked to get down on the floor and he said he was already following them so y get down on the floor. The penalty fee for jumping the train is 80 pounds so y arrest him like that. The man was wrong for not buyinh ticket but the flogging was unnecessary. The whites hate blacks anyway.
Before some idiots come here Nd make stupid comment I'll suggest u go to www.gov.uk Befire any police officer arrests u in uk,they need to tell u why u re being arrested and they are not allowed to use excessive force on u or hit u if u re not violent or aggressive..This guy wasn't violent neither was he aggressive. He simply demanded why he was being arrested yet he was never told ... First he's lucky he's not in US. Those ain't immigration police so its not immigration ish. If he was being traced for a crime as suspect, they would have surrounded him since. It's a train station and would likely be him using the underground without ticket subject to a fine. That doesnt usually exceed £25 or cause much violence. But he should have obeyed. However the baton things is extreme but not racial in my opinion as i have seen worse done to a white friend caught drunk driving and resisting arrest.
He looked down on the police and deserved what he got. Even in Nigeria we behave badly. It was his huge physique that saved him. They couldn't tackle him. Could gave been worse
This guy must be one of Nigeria's so called "BIG MEN" who always believe they are above the law. He has no self respect that was why he could not lower his voice. There was nothing to shout about. He is definitely a criminal. If he had space he would gave sprinted off
Oh so so sorry about your loss of both job& your money,it's really painful& I can understand how terrible u must have felt but just a lil advice incase of next time,we r all in this together as blacks living outside d Country,u have to get that 1st on your mind every time that so much is expected from you because of that,so wherever you are, wether work, school& even most importantly job interviews,u have to put up the best behaviour,be very alert, be unique, give a lasting impression so u can always stand out& u will shine& they'd be drawn to you& want to have you with them cos wether we like it or not, racism has always been there& is here to stay, they saw you were the only black person there& it was easy for them to do away with you cos they saw you sleeping off during d training& assumed u were not fit enough,it wasn't a good impression for a first time interview/training but I can understand that nature calls sometimes& u have to obey, what u could have done immediately u noticed u were starting to feel sleepy,u should have walked around, used the bathroom, washed your face or gone somewhere very hidden to take a quick nap. They expect so much adrenaline rush from all d prospective trainees so it was very easy for them to single u out esp as they see you were d only person of color there. They will rather give jobs to their own rather than foreigners so in a nut shell, next time pls sleep early b4 any interview/job training,do exercises,watch/ read articles about how to impress on a 1st time interview etc cos u'd continue to face this as in not find it as easy as others cos of your skin color but once u make that lasting impression, they will be clamouring& queuing for your service.Pls Tk care,I hope you get another job& it goes well for u next time.God bless
Unlucky about your not getting the job. At least you'll have an up to date DBS. Make a note of the form number and if you register it on the Update system you won't have to do another one. It'll really come in handy for future employments. Trust me! I'd be slow to conclude you didn't get the job cos you were black, you know "oyinbo" like to do things by the book. Good luck with your job search :)
Oh ! Sorry, sleeping on duty in the UK is not a joke at all most of the time they take a picture of you be cos you would get am automatic dismissal letter a day should incase you want to press charges that picture would stand as añ evidence in court
U knew u had a training the following day. Yo gotta stand across urself n see that ur action (or inaction lol) shows lack of interest, incompetence n indiscipline. Next time u trying to get on something, U gotta show tht u want it bruh.
Also work on ur time management skills, Very crucial. college can be tough but hey, if u want to multitask, u gotta up ur game. Sry abt ur potential-job!
This case is going to court, the stupid man would just get himself a criminal record. Plus I hope he has his papers sha! If not he would end up in Nigeria.
No, He was asked to lie down. Cops only ask a person to lie down when the person is suspected to conseal a weapon, Not when they skip out on a train ticket. A walk out/fine is usuallyw the way to go. Then again we don't know why things escalated to the lYing down part.
Really? Law student. What's the source your own law? A man submits himself to arrest and says I will follow you don't handcuff me. And you call hitting him with a baton reasonable? I'm a lawyer and when a person agrees to follow you when arrested there is no reason to handcuff or use force. My impression of this video is not a man resisting arrest but one who refused to be handcuff without cause. And I believe he is within his right to request not to be hand cuffed . The only time force and restraint is necessary in an arrest is where a person completely refuses to subject himself to that arrest. Besides if you will arrest a person he has a right to know promptly what he is being arrested for. I didn't hear that in this video and the man kept asking why. Unfortunately for him these officers would end up reeling trumped up charges against him
What if he went to visit a family and was accusely arrested by some lame white woman or man! This things happen! I feel like he shouldn't have resisted but at the same time the hitting was uncalled for. I've seen instances where the person resisted and the police explained in a quiet manner. The police brutality is getting way out of hand. Truth be told, if you resist or not they still beat you like mad but when a white person resist they never really harm him. Being black I guess means you are arrogant or so they always believe. They treat you with unjustified stereotypes but if you treat the police with an unjustified stereotype they get mad. How about they police well so we know we can trust them.
Abegiiiii if it was muslim ooo he's a muslim ,if was in Yankee Na gun shots for end am, he probably have no papers cos me will follow them quietly, finish with them n move on depending, never resist check youtube for even white guys being maltreated by police bfr you shout race
From what he said "bcos of penalty fee", it's obv he traveled without the right ticket or had none at all! From experience(lol) they'd ask for your ID and other info so as to send penalty charge to your hse address if you're not able to pay on the spot. In a situation where you have no ID on you, you will be arrested, taken to the station to further confirm your identity. What dude must have done wrong here is to resist arrest. When British police recites the Miranda warning..."you're under arrest, you have the right to remain....blah blah", no matter what you say or do at that point, you are on free ride to their station...don't bother. Although, hitting the guy with baton was wrong! Wrestling him to the ground, yes. Hitting him, no no. Bless.
I feel he was badly treated cos he's black can dey treat a white an like that? It's wrong!!! He said " am following u guys don't handcuff me" he didn't run and was chased down from the video. It's totally wrong the way he was treated, the man had British accent to tell you he must have being in the UK a while so he should know how to behave. He was treated wrongly.
You are the most senseless idiots in 2016. We are our own enemy, see u calling urself and ur fellow race zoo monkey. In fact u the father of zoo monkeys. Oloshi ja ti ja ti. Omo ode.
Can you resist arrest when a Nigerian police officer wants to arrest you? All he should have done was to obey them,if they arrest him unjustly then he can go to court. Yelling will not make them leave you alone.
The guy is just ignorant. Because you are been put in hand cuff doesn't mean you are a criminal. it is for the police protection too. most often time police are been attack.
What kind of stupid good point? You all should start thinking with your brain instead of your asses like seriously!!! They should have informed him of the crime he committed cause, from the video, it was clear he wasn't aware of his said "offence"!!! Stop bashing the priviledge so called "big men" for the sole reason that you feel sorry for your damn self!!!!
The guy is ignorant. Been put in Handcuff doesn't make you a criminal. It is for the police protection too. Often times they get attack by the same people they are trying to protect. Now he can be charge with resisting arrest. Very sad.
Maybe the guy didnt buy ticket and at thesame time, maybe he doesnt have papers to stay in the UK that's why he tried to resist arrest because after he gets to the police station, that's the first thing they will ask for. They will want to know his status and details. For resisting arrest, he might be charged to court because it is an offence. But the only thing i didnt like is telling him to lie down on the floor. That's inhuman and humiliating. He can use a human right lawyers to get justice for that one. You can arrest someone without telling him to lie down on a cold dirty floor because UK can be very very cold. The guy can claim that the floor was very cold and he is allergic to cold. The police was wrong and the guy was also wrong at some point.
What has black got to do with it. Next time keep your eyes open.Whites don't sleep on duty or during training. That is why they are progressing. They take things serious that's why they succeed.
As a lawyer, it is only after i know the crime he commited that i can comment because if i comment, i might be judging wrongly and blaming wrongly. So Linda go and find out what crime he commited. All these Linda half story gist dey tire person at times. Give us complete gist biko.
The guy think say na Naija he dey where he can get away with anything? Does he think he is in Nigeria where you can misbehave with the police? My dear when you are in Rome, behave like the Romans. When you are in UK, obey their laws and adjust your unruly behaviour.
It is a huge shame for the Nigerian dude. The type that brings the country's image to disrepute. How on earth he is refusing arrest, if he is innocent, the best thing is to oblige them, later if he is wrongly accused, the will apologize. He has compounded his woes. May end up been deported.
I didn't expect this comment from you. What other ways? E-arrest? Bluetooth? Magic arrest? If you feel you are innocent, follow them quietly to the station and clear yourself. In a few hours you'll be out with a clean record. I can swear this man has alot to hide hence the drama.
He is lucky this didn't happen in America. If it was the American Police, they would have beaten the shit out of him handcuff him and send him to jail straight up without asking questions. The British Police are too civil and treat people with too much respect. No one can try this in America regardless of who you are.
He shouldn't have resisted arrest whether he was innocent or not, knowing fully that those policemen were never going to let him walk away no matter how much he claims not to be a criminal...
So annoying they come over here solicit for our money by making us come school in uk just to boost there economy. Then they end up assaulting us and stripping us of our basic human right.. we are just mental slaves to them. . The earlier we wakeup d better for us..
He didn't resist arrest he only said he shouldn't be handcuffed cos he is not a criminal. They would have just taken him into thier car that's all. I just wonder what he would have done
@sexy sun has said it all. The police must give you the reason why your been arrested, however you do not need to shout unreasonably if they are in the process of arresting u.In my view the two officers felt his shouting was intimidating and creating unnecessary pandemonium. No matter the circumstance, one need not to resist arrest as the police will use a reasonable force to arrest and you and that might warrant a search and further criminal check on you. On a general note, this to me doesnt seem like a serious matter. I am happy it's not in the US were the police seem to be a bit racial, may be by now it would have been a different story.
The police went too far agreed! The guy gave them reasons to. It's a general practise to handcuff a suspect to the police station except you are a police man or woman you will not go without been handcuffed in many countries they will handcuff the suspect and even have a chain around the handcuff which the police officer will hold on to. Don't give a police officer a reason to assault you. Do as you are told even after you realised he went extreme then you can sue. Police officer don't mind gunning a man down, we shouldn't give them reason to. He is unwise
The amount of ignorance from Linda and most comments here is unreal. First the police have no right in the UK to arrest you without telling you why. You have every right to walk away from police if they do not tell you why you are being arrested. They have no right to put hands on you if you were not aggressive or threatened them. It's clear he wasn't a criminal otherwise they would have surrounded him a lot more from beginning. No proof this man is Nigerian at all. A penalty of £80 is what is usually issued if he didn't pay for train. The man can sue them for assault and unlawful arrest and detention. Next time, do your homework before you comment and print a story but don't give wrong information or compare lawlessness in Nigeria to the UK or the US.
I don't know if the guy is a Nigerian but what the British Police did was wrong, he didn't resist arrest he only resisted being handcuffed like a criminal. Are you guys sure you watched the video or you're saving your mb. Linda gave a headline and you commented without watching oga ooo. Pure racism is what I see in the Video. Let's go is what he said but handcuff me, Nigerians
Next time try to avoid sleeping during a job interview. They will just see you as incompetent instead of listening to ur reasons. This happens almost every where
The police used excessive force. It was just a penalty fare for boarding the train without ticket. Not saying the guy was completely innocent, but normally in that situation, the transport police take your name and address with a promise to pay the penalty at a later date - usually 21 days if you don't have the cash on you. There was no need to handcuff him and take him to the station
He's saying they are treating him this way because of penalty fare? Which means he tried getting on a train without buying a ticket or paying the fares. He's a thief. It's a criminal offence
Dude. Must have flouted a law.we still don't get it police men are d same every where.for naija na slap go greet ur face.having said dat,d cops come for u just go peacefully resisting arrest will complicate issues. But the guy try sha he stood his ground they could not take. Him down he refuse to lie down, lie down for wat u b God way I go prostrate.
But the UK laws says u have a right to be told what your offence is when u r being arrested. Many criminals have been let off because of this simple thing in the UK.
Would you like it if someone just approached you and told you to get on the floor in the busiest station in London without telling you what you have done? The other day a man was taken off a plane because of a prayer. Don't be so ignorant. The law should be followed by both civilians and police and this police man didn't follow the law
If the officer was acting within the law then you obey. The officer wasnt acting according to the law. Don't compare here to the lawlessness of Nigeria. He didn't resist, he was just asking for His rights
I dont think you listened to the video... he did not resist arrest. He agreed to go with them (i'm going with you; let's go...) but they wanted to humiliate him by telling him to lie on the floor. what for?
Did you watch the video or you just say what comes to your brain. He didn't resist arrest, he wasn't armed, so why are they asking him to go down and why trying to handcuff him, he was very willing to go with them. This isn't fair at all.
Well, until we know d reason for which he was arrested, i'l rest my case. But d guy tried, he made sure he ddnt lie on the floor!!! Respect! A white guy would hv been nicely invited to their office as long as he ddnt pose a threat to anyone's life!
Woww, they were probably unhappy u were there in d first place, other students might even have complained about u. Sometimes I get scared travelling, u just might never know wt ul do to get them angry, even dozing off at d airport might raise security issues!
This is absolute nonsense, hearing what the man is saying shows that he is indeed a gentle man, i hate how blacks are always been treated in the foreign countries. After admitting to go with them, yet he is still been beaten, this is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf.. White people have no respect for the Black.
He simply failed the first law - obedience. Like Stern suggested, more baton should be forceful RESTED on him.Stern,I'm standing by u for the first time.
We all know blacks are treated bad all over the world. Given the slightest opportunity, they pounce on you. So be disciplined & don't give them the pleasure.
The guy shouldnt have resisted arrest. If he didnt want to lie on the floor, he should have told them that he has back pain or knee problem. Oyinbo always respect people that have health issues. Or he can tell them that he is atshmatic with severe chest pain so he cannot lie on the floor and they will respect that because they know you can sue the police if you develop health issues because of that. There are ways to go about these things in a deplomatic way instead of shouting and challenging them. Thank God someone has a proof of the recorded video as evidence that will help him in court. If not, them for fry him ass.
Eyaah sorry about your loss but i do not support your sleeping on duty, interview or training class. The only thing i have against them is that they should have returned your money back to you if they dont want you anymore. It would have been a fair decision if they had refunded the money.
If the guy didnt buy train ticket, the guy is a thief and thieves are usually treated as criminals. If the ticket is £80, that means you stole £80 even if you did not steal it directly. The only place where i have a problem with the police is tellig him to lie on the floor when he is not carrying any weapons. All you would have done is search his pockets if he is carrying a gun or knife. If he is not, then simply take him to the station. There were more than 5 police officers there for christ sake. How could the guy possibly run away? There was no need humiliating him to lie on the floor.

lol but he did commit an offence and that makes him a criminal, a lot of people who commit this particular offence usually run immediately they get the chance. probably why they needed to put him in handcuffs.

Naiga man with Afican behavior
I think that NIGERIAN man needs to be hit again severally with that baton..Once the cops pull you over, don't even dare to resist arrest else they'll treat your fuck up and you'll wish u just obeyed them at once.
Phew! The policemen went too far, such inhuman treatment in the purported civilized country.
There are many ways they could have gotten him arrested.

why resisting arrest? serves him right
nawa oo... Nigerians will always show them

Ehmmmm... resisting arrest
All because he's a black man.
He doesnt have complete paper
Well, he should nt have resisted arrest. I know it's painful when u haven't done anything wrong. I'm a student in d uk on nigerian scholarship (although we haven't been paid a dime). I applied to a care company to work as carer for old people. I went to d interview n was told to pay 50pounds for dbs check which I did n den I was called for d training. He is an idiot, you don't resist arrest regardless...Period!

Why would the police treat him like that? That's wrong. He already said he was gonna go with them. That's nonsense, no matter what. All those UK police dey over do sometimes.
Chills down the spine..
He lucky. Out here they would have shot up his ass. Why is he resisting
His mistake ever was resisting arrest...
Hmmm
De is nt Nigeria ooo.
#FINEST
Dont really know why they are treating him that way,,,, but the guy would have just simple followed them. In the UK they are lawyers that can stand for you for free
They are doing way too much, if hasnt committed a crime I see no reason why he should be handcuffed , he could have followed them and not have to be treated like an animal. They overuse their power
He get luck ,if na US police he would be on the ground since and blood self, what!!!! You guys remember how one guy dead in new York in June 2014, oyea they can't waste time and a black guy for that matter,
linda please you need to follow up on this case because i believe that nigerian is being profiled cos he is black.
To be honest the guy embarrassed himself cos if he has nothing to hide don't see reason why he should resist arrest and playing victim
I think it's barbaric. Why treat him like a criminal?Racism continues to remain a disturbing reality abroad.
I am sorry but he made a nuisance of himself.
First thing first, you obey! An officer in uniform in a law abiding country asked you to get down, you obey. End of.
This is no racism or anything, that man was wrong and will defo do a jail term or community service depending on what he is charged of.
Oya! Ministry of foreign affairs, can you guys act at least for once. This can't be taken for granted.
Haha.. I trust our American police they would have shot him or done worse..
This is so wrong!Jobless idiots! Look how many they were on top £25 penalty fare.
Dats nt fair at all...
He shouldn't have restricted arrest. If your hands are clean and police men stop you anywhere in the world you obey them. When you resist they think you have something to hide.
Assault by the police is wrong. He should be punished
That Nigerian man should be careful. he would've gotten shoot if that was in American city because the police wouldn't will not take that sh#t from him. you dont need to be criminal to be arrested anywhere in the world.
Assault by the police is wrong. He should be punished
Gbam! You couldn't have been more apt @ anon 12.22
Chop knuckle my dear, the race card is irrelevant in this context. The UK police are one of the fairest there is in the world.
And he dint have the right to know what hz offence was?? Its bout color belive it or not..
wow! thats all i gotta say.
Rule 101 do not resist arrest
Can a white guy be treated like dat.... He s not a thief or drug guy... D guy s innocent
Hi not fair at all... Racism

Police powers of arrest: your rights
To arrest you the police need reasonable grounds to suspect you’re involved in a crime for which your arrest is necessary.
The police have powers to arrest you anywhere and at any time, including on the street, at home or at work.
The police arrest procedure
If you’re arrested the police must:
identify themselves as the police
tell you that you’re being arrested
tell you what crime they think you’ve committed
explain why it’s necessary to arrest you
explain to you that you’re not free to leave
If you’re under 17 the police should only arrest you at school if it’s unavoidable, and they must inform your headteacher.
The police must also contact your parents, guardian or carer as soon as possible after your arrival at the police station.
Police powers to use reasonable force
If you try to escape or become violent, the police can use ‘reasonable force’, eg holding you down so you can’t run off.

Before some idiots come here Nd make stupid comment I'll suggest u go to www.gov.uk
Befire any police officer arrests u in uk,they need to tell u why u re being arrested and they are not allowed to use excessive force on u or hit u if u re not violent or aggressive..This guy wasn't violent neither was he aggressive.

Solution: Stay at home and be proud if Nigeria. Name Nigeria a better place.
Typical Nigerian ego.
Always gets deflated in the end. He is lucky. In the U S he would have been shot
He looked down on the police and deserved what he got. Even in Nigeria we behave badly. It was his huge physique that saved him. They couldn't tackle him. Could gave been worse
you do not resist arrest period!
This guy must be one of Nigeria's so called "BIG MEN" who always believe they are above the law. He has no self respect that was why he could not lower his voice. There was nothing to shout about. He is definitely a criminal. If he had space he would gave sprinted off
Good point
Ur personal problem isnt ur employers'2 bear.
Oh please, Nigeria n's are always crying fowl!
Unfortunately for him these officers would end up reeling trumped up charges against him
Very irritating, why the man no go just respect himself,he obviously must have done something wrong.
How about they police well so we know we can trust them.
would have died within the first ten seconds in he US
Abegiiiii if it was muslim ooo he's a muslim ,if was in Yankee Na gun shots for end am, he probably have no papers cos me will follow them quietly, finish with them n move on depending, never resist check youtube for even white guys being maltreated by police bfr you shout race
Bless.
Shut up. Northern slave . U see ur overlords dealing with u? Mugus in the zoogeria
Very sad.
He's a fool. What is so hard about obeying instructions.
Shut up idiot. What do you know. What's hard in obeying instructions.
I concur
The guy think say na Naija he dey where he can get away with anything? Does he think he is in Nigeria where you can misbehave with the police? My dear when you are in Rome, behave like the Romans. When you are in UK, obey their laws and adjust your unruly behaviour.
That man just embarrassed himself trying to claim right in a foreign land.
As if dem give u chance or visa now u no go use speed reach there..talking like an ass...smh
I agree with stern
He is lucky this didn't happen in America. If it was the American Police, they would have beaten the shit out of him handcuff him and send him to jail straight up without asking questions. The British Police are too civil and treat people with too much respect. No one can try this in America regardless of who you are.
Good point my ass! If he did something bad..he wouldn't av d mind to resist... Oyibo fucked taking d piss...smh!!
He shouldn't have resisted arrest whether he was innocent or not, knowing fully that those policemen were never going to let him walk away no matter how much he claims not to be a criminal...
Obey first! then ask questions.....Period
Oh no!!! My dear! The discrimination... If I start my own story eh! Linda's blog will not contain it... So sorry.
My point exactly
Resisting arrest is a good way to go abi? You need a doctor
Hmmmmmmmmm na wa ooo
He said don't touch me. They could just walk him to the station since he wasn't resisting arrest
Linda, pls don't forget to follow up on this story oh. make we know wetin the man do and if the flog flog police was right or wrong.
He didnt buy ticket, that's an offense.
Good for him, resist arrest now trying to act like he is been treated bad, am sure he has also committed an offensive act,,+olodo man
Eeeya Pele. Please send your email
He wasn't resisting arrest.
He was complying with them
Drunk driving is a criminal offence so it is understandable. not paying for train only warrant a fine. T
Thank you for the intelligent replies.
He didn't resist
But the UK laws says u have a right to be told what your offence is when u r being arrested. Many criminals have been let off because of this simple thing in the UK.
Never resist arrest, follow d uniformed men, get to deir office, answer questions, den go ur way if u are innocent.
Would you like it if someone just approached you and told you to get on the floor in the busiest station in London without telling you what you have done? The other day a man was taken off a plane because of a prayer. Don't be so ignorant. The law should be followed by both civilians and police and this police man didn't follow the law
The Nigeria embassy here is useless and inept. They won't do anything
Same here.
He can sue for assault and unlawful arrest and detention
Thank God there's law here and the law says tell someone the reason why they are being arrested before you tell them to get on the floor
Thank you for the intelligent reply. Many people are so ignorant it's unreal
Sometimes I wish Nigeria police force will be active like this and not give there guns to stupid foreigners to snap with.
If the officer was acting within the law then you obey. The officer wasnt acting according to the law. Don't compare here to the lawlessness of Nigeria. He didn't resist, he was just asking for His rights
He said he will follow them
The police insisted on handcuffs which wasn't necessary
God Punish those White Bananas.... Sons of Dogs.
hhehehhehe Nigerians always repp'n
-D great anonymous now as Vivian Reginalds
I dont think you listened to the video... he did not resist arrest. He agreed to go with them (i'm going with you; let's go...) but they wanted to humiliate him by telling him to lie on the floor. what for?
How?when he was resisting arrest.Try it with Nigerian police and tell the story.
Exactly
God punish your entire generation for that comment about Igbos. Ode!
It's you and your entire generation that is a zoo monkey.. Fool! Stupid racist!
Na woah,not fair...!
Ede rora, shot sey wetin? Do you even live in the US? Don't say what you don't know please
We should always obey the laws of any country and nobody is above it.
But why resisting arrest
Wow....Stern don talk well today.
Come back home oooo, it is not by force
This stupid anonymous goat show up. Fake lawyer like you. Who are you to trash pps opinion. Devil punish your father n sister

NEVER RESIST ARREST SIMPLE
Those police were soft oooo. Imagine nigerian police. You wan ask dem why are dey treating you dis way?
What exactly did he gain by making all that fuss, shouting & making that kind of scene?
lol but he did commit an offence and that makes him a criminal, a lot of people who commit this particular offence usually run immediately they get the chance. probably why they needed to put him in handcuffs.
Absolutely nothing. If he's innocent, why not answer them. He should come to Nijja and do that one
