Port Harcourt refinery to commence operation by end June - NNPC

The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr Joseph Dawha today said the refinery in Port Harcourt will start refining petroleum products by the end of this month. Dr Dawha made the announcement while inspecting some petrol stations in Abuja today. He said;
"Presently, the refineries are undergoing rehabilitation and we are undertaking what we call a new strategy to carry out the turn around maintenance on them. Basically, what this means is that we are carrying out phased implementation of rehabilitation of the refineries. We are taking the refineries unit by unit and carrying out turnaround maintenance on them. So in other words, if the maintenance are being carried out on the run and we started a couple of months ago.
Most of the refineries have advanced to a certain stage where they will be able to operate very soon. For example, the Port Harcourt refinery, which has reached an advanced stage, will start receiving crude by end of this month and then of course will start contributing to the available products in the country.”he said Dr Dawha denied claims that the oil corporation abandoned the four refineries in Nigeria - 2 in port harcourt, one in Kaduna and one in Warri “I’ve heard some people say we have neglected the refineries, no, farther from that. We hope that at the end of the exercise, these refineries will be fully back into operation and we will minimise some of the problems we have with importation. We decided that if the refineries were not in good state to process crude for maximum gain, then there was no point sending crude to the refineries. Therefore what you do is to try and fix it so that by the time you start processing the crude, you will get real value for the crude you are sending to the refineries. We are satisfied with the level of work that has been carried out so far in the Port Harcourt refinery, so that if you start processing crude now you will get real value."

So this could be done?PMB'S regime as military head of state completed the phase 2 of the P/H refinery then started and completed the warri one.

If nothing else,PMB understands the oil industry.

Small small, civil servants will do their work as long as they know they can't hide behind a corrupt minister, governor or president.

Still your hero Madame? If PMB was interested in pursuing GMB,the world will be shocked.

I rest my case.For now.

See repetition of phrases in one sentence. Sometimes, I feel govt officials don't really know what they are talking about. But wow! Buhari is a God-send! Congratulations to us all!

That is fantastic.

Yorubas, good for you people, Buhari and the Hausas have played you people for a fool. You think Buhari is not in support with the drama at the chambers? It was strategically planned with Saraki to take over senate president in place of who Tinubu wants to install. He knew what will happen that was why he was saying it right from the beginning that he doesn't want to get involved with the senate president election. All you Yorubas can do is to fight the Igbos that have not done you any wrong. You people have been sold out if you don't know. The VP is only there as a puppet. Sit tight and watch as events unfold.

Bravo. That's thanks to the GEJ administration. The contract for the turnaround maintenance of PH refinery was awarded sometime in August last year and it's now almost completed. I bet someone mofos here on this blogsite will accredit it to PMB. People are that dumb on this blog site. I can say that after listening to the comments on previous posts.

I thought they said GEJ was not working ? Criminals!! They helped frustrate his government out of power now they wanna reap from his labor !! Just imagine the way we'v been having power since after the new government came in, iv always known that ppl did all they could to make sure GEJ never succeeded in fixing the power sector so he doesn't end up being the greatest presido nigeria ever had, but hey God is not asleep trust me !

This is good news, what have they been waiting for all these while to put our refineries in repairs or is it because those in charge knows that Buhari will sack them from office if they don't buckle up? Hmmmmm.... Naija greedy politicians owner cup don full, Buhari go deal with owner very soon.

Unknown said...

D refineries are alwaz undergoing rehabilitation. Wht a shame, and pity dat corruption in dis sector has made it impoosible for dis refineries to function as expected. God help us.

Unknown said...

That's a good one. We are certainly moving forward. Linda take note!

God bless GEJ where ever he is because he actually worked just that some wicked and selfish people refused to see it and raised a campaign of calumny against him. The truth will always remain true no matter how much lies you tell.

Anonymous said...

Some pp, are just dumb and gullible. These refineries have been working and producing. If you think GMB or anyone can revive a refinery in 3 weeks hen you need to enroll for a logic and critical thinking class. Because common sense is what most ppl would need to figure it out but alas! Common sense they say is not common.
Gullible youths of now a days. Nigeria is in trouble with your thinking. MchewMchew!!

Unknown said...

The refineries couldn't work in PDP's 16 years of rulke in Nigeria....Lol

Unknown said...

The refineries couldn't work for 16 years under PDP. This should be investigated as we are being short-changed as Nigerians

Anonymous said...

Very welcome development...if it ain't one of those promise and fails sha. #JustSayingThough

If the refinery has been working, how come the news carried it as not working? So pls shut up if u dont have what to say. Corrupt Losers!

President Buhari is a correct guy. This is somebody that knows what he is doing. At this rate, i dont even mind him doubling up as Petroleum Minister so as to stop corruption in that sector instantly. It is sad that Nigeria that produces oil cannot boast of constant electricity. Stmchew

Unknown said...

That will be a success.

Hahahahahahah I am waiting the game just started. Nigerians are so blind though their eyes are seeing.
