The money they steal in NNPC alone is enough to feed the children. Remember =N=25b was missing from police pensions alone so that is the kind of money they are quaffing in Abuja.

We are so used to abnormality that it appears normal to many of us. This is a common practice in UK. Change is here.

Osun state has been doing it for years. Yes, it's very much possible.

It'll even boost agriculture and create 00s of 000s of jobs.

Anonymous said...

Can you say that to your father, you uncouth child!

My dear Linda, it is very possible. Osun state is doing this program of feeding the children a meal a day in public school. I watched the documentary and I was impressed. Othe governors can go and learn from Osun state.

Just read his wife's interview, they run two schools for poor and indegent children in Lagos OKota and Anthony totally free tuition and free lunch for the kids.So he knows what he is talking about.

You Nigerians are so ignorant you don't even know what is possible. We will stop the money being giving to those lazy armed robbers called militants and feed the children. They should go and find work no more stipend for their Lazy asses.Because Jona is clueless and a bushman without ideas don't mean it's not possible.

Some states are doing it already so why isn't it possible at the federal level? The doubt in people's mind show the extent to which corruption of our leaders has affected our thinking

Anonymous said...

Most of the comments claiming Osinbajo has sold his soul to the devil and other church related matters were sent by the same person.

This one meal a day is being done by Osun state government who receives the least allocation from the FG.

Anonymous said...

Be careful throwing promises around.

Anonymous said...

It's possible. Most private schools in Lagos gives kids a meal a day so if the change we glamour for comes and with proper planning and accountability Nigerian kids will definitely get it

Anonymous said...

It's a common practice in the UK. So there is nothing clueless about it. Embrace change.

Ladies and gentlemen on this forum, you would realise this is possible if you knew how much corruption, unnecessary and frivolous expenditure and unremited revenues have set us back. If we get back 50% of what we are losing now, it is very possible. #SaiBuhari

Foolish politicians, and it's a pity that Pastor Osibanjo, a son raised by papa Adeboye is now part of this bunch of liars, for your Information, what Nigerians are asking for is not feeding for the students but Free and Quality Education.

Change to people who are notorious for taking 40% of Lagod' IGR! Change to liars. Never! That's Tinubu for you. He has used tribalism to brainwash many of us. This man can never be like Awo. He is merely out to enrich himself and his family. Yorubas vote wisely. Do not sell your birthright to this hooligan. We are an educated tribe. We are not foolish!

Liar! We want qualitative education not free food. That is why the north has a high level of illiteracy. Why feed you fish instead of empowering you to fish for yourself. Tinubu wants to enslave us all. God will not let him. He has enslaved many of our brothers and sisters in the SW. He wi never do that on a Federal level. Amen!

Shut the fuck up! Is this even possible? Again I will say this, you Nigerians deserve the leaders yuu get. Are you not exposed or at least read books that keeps you informed. What is so hard in. A free meal food a day? Just one? It's not likely he said 3 times a day. There is money... It's one of the easiest things a country can do. You people are so use to mediocre that civilisation and forwardness is automatically a lie. This is why these politicians don't do nothing because they know you people expect them to nothing, so it's fine. Thank you for reminding them again today.

Anonymous said...

Lol! This Prof is not a man of God. Will you say Judas is a disciple of Jesus? Prof sold his soul a long time ago. He is NOT a man of God. The fact he calls himself one does not make him one. By their fruits you shall know them. He is Tinubu's liar and thief!

Anonymous said...

They want to tantalize Nigerians with falsehood and they betray them once they get in. Listen to this rubbish. Smh!

Pastor better don't come out and say what u can't do, meal kor meal ni

Anonymous said...

Not a bad idea really, but i think the system of education needs way pass that. When facilities are not in place for learning, the environment is nt peaceful, teachers demonstrate non challant attitude. I think meal is a slap on the face of the average Nigerian and the public student cuz they need more and standard education where they can discover wat they want in life. Wetin bird cop na him he go fly with, is way more than food.

Unknown said...

The Nigerian govt can do even more than that if they really want to

Anonymous said...

Yes it's possible with all the billions of naira that go missing under PDP!

Anonymous said...

This will be a laudable social contribution by Govt when implemented. This promise is well achievable if the Govt puts education as priority to its citizens. My father attended university in the 70s and his meals were taken care of then and why cant the govt do the same now.

It is not rocket science, it is very possible. I wonder how Nigerians can be so blind to this. If Jonathan stops feeding with N1Bn annually and used d money to feed students instead, wouldn't he have achieved this? Before u crucify the pastor (mind u I'm not a Xtian), check out Osun State to confirm if Aregbesola is doing it or not. Be wise Nigerians, our Naira has fallen again n d worse is yet to happen if Uncle J continues. Change is imperative else, "we are all Baga".

IT'S SADDENIND HOW HOPELESSLY DANGEROUSLY IGNORANT NIGERIANS HAVE BECOME DUE TO DECADES ABUSE MASS ABUSE AND MISAPPROPRIATION BY PAST GOVERNMENTS.

THE ANUAL BUDGET OF THE OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY WHICH IS A GENUINELY USELESS , WASTEFUL AND UN-PRODUCTIVE PARASTATAL THROUGH AND THROUGH WILL PAY FOR THIS FEEDING PROJECT NATIONWIDE WITH CHANGE.

ROUGH ESTIMATE
ASSUME N100 PER LUNCH PER STUDENT
ASSUME 2000 STUDENTS PER SCHOOL
ASSUME 100 SCHOOLS PER STATE

COST OF DAILY LUNCH PER STATE
= 100 X 2000 X 100 = N20,000,000

COST OF WEEKLY LUNCH PER STATE
= N20,000,000 X 7DAYS
= N140,000,000 PER WEEK

SO GIVEN 36 STATES
COST PER WEEK NATIONALLY
=36STATES X N140,000,000
=N5,040,000,000

NATIONAL ANNUAL COST
=N5,040,000,000 X 52 WEEKS PER YEAR
=N262,080,000,000
=N262 BILLION PER ANNUM

=$1.4 BILLION
DEFINITELY A WORTHWHILE AND DIRECT INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE LEADERS OF THIS COUNTRY. TOTALLY FEASIBLE USING BUDGET OF THE OFFICE FIRST LADY.

It is very possible. Isn't it done abroad and isn't Nigeria supposedly a rich country. Whatever the children eat would be equivalent to crumbs from the king's table.

We all are quite enlightened and aware of the low standard of living in Nigeria but its sad that you would put that to our faces. Poor does not mean dull. We need more practical solutions than just commitment to a meal a day in primary schools. Why not learning conducive environments for kids, libraries where kids can learn, appropriate infrastructures, teacher training and conferences to mention a few. Why just food?? The change we want is not because we are hungry. In fact we have been hungry for so long that we are already accustomed to it. If those are your plans at that national level you are aiming sir, you had best review your ambition for this great country. Nigeria deserves more, each of us owe it as responsibility being citizens to make it better. Well, not a fan of PDP nor APC, just my opinion.

Reading d comments am surprise most people don't know that even in recent time, public school children has bn feed by UBEC (universal basic education commission) scheme. In 2006-2008 the whole school children in Nigeria eat lunch everyday in school. In Mann street pprimary school Owerri where I was teaching then, it was 3times weekly though UBEC approval was daily; corruption u know. So go ask question. Its very much possible and I believe with good governance, its more than possible.
