Former Minister of Petroleum resources, Prof Tam David-West says anyone caught involving in election rigging deserves to be sentenced to death. Speaking in Port harcourt, Rivers state to Punch over the contentious Saturday governorship election in the state, David-West said election riggers are worse than armed robbers and that sentencing them to death when apprehended is the only way Nigeria can have peaceful, free and fair elections
"I have said that election riggers should get death sentence. Rigging election is worse that armed robbery. If an armed robber can be sentenced to death, election riggers must face similar punishment. That is the only way we can have peaceful, free and fair election in this country. It (election) was a sham. From all I heard, in Buguma, Asari-Toru, there was no election as a result of sporadic shooting in the area. Surprisingly, INEC released a result. It is wrong for anyone to say that the conducted election is good. Is that some people see the death as goodness? If an election is fraught with violence and other forms of malpractices, if it is not corrected, it would stain the performance of INEC.” - he said

Even if the say form a line behind Dakuku n Wike, depending on who u support Wike ll still defeat Dakuku hands down. Rivers people don't necessarily have a problem with Dakuku, the problem lies with Amaechi. Over the years, he turned himself to s mini god. Dakuku instead of selling himself to the populace, only remained on the defensive for Amaechi. He forgot or rather ignored the fact that Amaechi alone will not vote for him. One thing I know is that Rivers people don't neccessarily love Wike, however, they have been option starved. They'll rather Wike though a poor substance, compared to the average Rivers product; than Dakuku a perceived unapologetic stooge of Amaechi who seems not to have a mind of his own. Dakuku may have a mind of his own, but failed to present himself as one who does, hence the defeat he suffered and also same applied for all APC candidates.
Secondly, talking about truncating the electoral process, it was Ojukaye Flag Amachree; an APC stalwart an LGAchairman of Buguma that beheaded a PDP member an two other PDP members. The boys killed were Egberipapa's boys-one of them being his CSO. After the killing in Buguma, he called Roland Sekibo a PDP chieftain in Abonnema bragging that he had killed "a whole Egberipapa's "boys and was coming for him.
So please, if we must talk of justice, it should start from the APC house. Enough Amaechi committing crime and crying foul. Free n fair election never brought any of them to power. The case of Rivers was a battle of 2 thugs. One won the other. Now the loser goes around crying like a wounded lion. Amaechi, let the Rivers case humble you. Someday, ur dirty misdeeds and actions will come out in the open. Save urself the embarrassment and bow ur head in shame. Dakuku please try again in 4years though on a clean slate, free from Amaechi's cross and baggage.
