Dwayne Wade's cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was pushing a stroller with her child in it on Friday afternoon on a street in the South Side of Chicago when several men started shooting at each other.
One of the bullets hit her in the head, while another struck her in an arm.
She died about 45 minutes later at a hospital. According to her aunt, Jolinda Wade, who is NBA Champion, Dwayne Wade's mother, said Aldridge was on her way to an elementary school when the shooting happened. She said:
"She wasn't bothering nobody,"."She was just going to register her kids at school."Fortunately, her child was not injured.
Dwayne Wade who has been an outspoken critic of rampant gun violence in Chicago took to his twitter page and wrote:
