NOA promotes the adoption of 2nd stanza of the National Anthem as the only prayer offered at any national event

The National Orientation Agency NOA, is promoting the adoption of the 2nd stanza of the National Anthem as the only prayer to be offered at any National event. According to the agency, this will help erase the age-long rivalry of religious way of praying at events in Nigeria. Do you agree with them? Continue to see more of their tweets...

I don't agree with them prayer must be made to eliminate hausa terrorist and pedophiles people spirit and yoruba witches and wizard.
Muslim have destroyed Nigeria in the name of pedophiles and terrorism when ever u tell them this is not right the will say it is part of Islam hmm.
For Nigeria and world to be at peace again Muslims must be ban enterly because all Muslims are terrorist and pedophiles.

#sad indeed

Its a good idea but it'll take more than that to promote Unity in this country. I look @ the stereotypical comments of others , the bile inside em , the loathe for other people coz they don't share the same religious & cultural affiliations. I weep for my dear country.True unity has to start from our inner self, the way we see & respect others, the way we tolerate.Until that is done, true unity may elude us

Reading the lyrics of the anthem makes me really value it compared to the first stanza. But...right now, there is so much going on in the country. Maybe they can push for that at the end of the year or something, not right now. But I totally support this. 'O God of creation, direct our noble course.' This line alone is a heavy universal prayer that can be adopted by any religion.

Couldn't agree more
To think that in most of this occasions separate prayers are offered by Muslims and Christians respectively

BONARIO NNAGS said...

I support the move, instead of after prayer by a Christian, a Muslim will pray too.
We should adopt just one national prayer.

The 2nd stanza of the anthem is a prayer, go through the wordings. I agree, everyone should pray in their closet to the God dey believe in. Linda take note!

Not a bad idea

I totally agree with you, I really don't understand how people can dislike, hate and kill each other on the basis of religion, tribe and cultural differences, instead we should embrace the difference and live in peace

u can't force a person to love you,all these initiatives will fail, the way to go is to practice proper federalism and secondly we must practice equality of all tribes in Nigeria, then peace and love will thrive.

u think some empty words in a write-up would promote unity, hmmmm,u guys amaze me.

Beautiful prayer for our country. What other prayer could be better than this? I totally support it. It should be adopted.

This is what is obtainable in most government agencies during meeting and events. It entails may spiritual thoughts which is akin to the nations growth. It should be adopted across the country.

I don't understand you ooooo Cheryl. If that is not a prayer, then what is it.

I agree with NOA!!!

You are definitely 'freeborn',your parents did not love you enough.
I am not mad at you, I am just sorry for you.

It's a start.

I concur. Very appropriate. This happens to be the prayer i say for Nigeria on independence day.

Actually, it's not bad, but is that our problem? How many people has the national anthem helped? How many has it given jobs? How many has it provided proper medical care for?

Our leaders are known for leaving the essentials and dealing with the non-essentials.

The second stanza needs to be further promoted among the Nigerian youth, starting with the corps members.
