Health workers stop planned strike over Ocholi’s death

Members of the Joint Health Workers Union (JOHESU), have shelved their planned strike, initially scheduled to commence on Thursday March 10th, as a mark of respect for the late Minister of State for Labor, James Ocholi, who died in a fatal accident alongside his wife and son on Sunday March 6th.

President of the Union, Biobelemoye Josiah, made this known to newsmen today March 9th

According to him, the suspension of the proposed strike action is to enable the workers mourn late James Ocholi who was until his death the Chairman of a Negotiation Committee set up by the Ministry of Labor to address the issues raised by the health workers union in their notice of the proposed strike sent to the ministry.

That's good. Please we need no more strikes of any sort right now. I heard PHCN is on strike, and I heard people from NNPC are also planning to go on strike.

I guess they should think of suspending it indefinitely, because of poor Nigerians that will be at the receiving end.

But seriously this has to be one of the dumbest things I have heard. People intending to go on strike as a show of respect for the dead? where on earth has our sanity gone to.

Such a good thing to do.. Honestly the children needs to drop that 'unnatural death' campaign and let this man rest in peace.
