being blamed by some for allegedly trying to frustrate the present
administration led by President Buhari’s at UNGA. Prof. Joy Ogwu is
being blamed for mismanaging President Buhari’s official schedule resulting in several missed opportunities and
embarrassing moments for Nigeria. But Nigerians on twitter are pissed
that the Govt wants to make her a scapegoat for their incompetency.

This is the fallout of this government's failure to appoint ministers. The President cannot be in several places or attend all events at the same time. The appropriate Minister/Ministry would've taken care of this issue and prevented the embarrassment. This is certainly not the fault of Joy Ogwu.

Why should anybody blame Prof. Joy Ogwu for a meeting the Presidency announced that it was not one of the official events of the UN for which PMB & his modest delegates are in N/Y. No doubt it was considered not very important among the meetings that he will attend. It suddenly became an issue because the press has reported it. Prof Joy Ogwu, a most outstanding woman of our time, has proved her worth over the years as a sucessful career diplomat tracing her records from NIIA, Min of External Affair and now to UN representation.
