Ambode vows to complete ongoing repairs on Ago Palace way

Respite appears to be coming the way of residence of Ago palace way in Lagos as the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has vowed to complete the ongoing repairs of the road that has been in a deplorable state for so many years.

In a statement released by the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure today September 30th, the state government said the final repairs along Fedrick Fasheun junction to Amuwo-Odofin Bridge and other road projects across the State will receive adequate and prompt attention by his government.

Ambode said efforts are on to ensure that contractors on all its road projects return to work and deliver high quality roads within reasonable timeframe. It explained that in view of the link between Isolo axis and the Apapa-Oshodi and Lagos Badagry Expressway, the Ago Palace way was segmented into phases to ensure ease of financing and delivery.

“Phase 1 of the road is 1.7km long road. It spans between Durban junction and the bridge. Phase 11 is the expansion of the 700m long bridge, while Phase 111 is 1.65km long road that spans between Okota Rd Junction and Fredric Fasehun junction. The three phase have been completed and in use. The phase IV is a 3.05km long road. Currently the project has attained 45% completion with significant works done on all the drainage/culvert and New Jersey barrier works. Also work is at advance stage on relocation of services, soil stabilization, and provision of crush stone before laying of 80mm interlocking paving stone on a segment of the road". The state government noted that erosion and flooding within the carriageway has subsided with the completion of drainage works on both sides of the 3.05 km road, adding that the inclement weather had reduced the pace of activities on the road.

While assuring that pace of work will soon pick up, the statement stressed that optional routes have been provided and made motorable by the contractor. They include Lamidi Ariyo, Folarin Fatunisi, Femi Kila, Ostra Lane, Zoostra Lane, Hakeem Dosunmu, Prince Joseph Adebayo, Awka Etiti, Okiki and Jemtok Street.

It's long overdue. .. We are waiting! ... A project that has lasted from 2007 to 2015 yet uncompleted ... I spent 5 hours on that road on Sunday just to get to Isolo. I still left there with a damaged bumper. ... Too bad

@bro Amode pls be fast on d road construction cos we have suffered so much in Ago. Pls tell d contractors handling Cele Express Bus stop to Okota roundabout to remove d sands d dug out from d gutters since last week from blocking d road.Cos of d way d sands blocked d road our suffering has increased seventy times.I'm suprised that despite calling on d govt to mandate d contractors to remove d sands, since Moday nothing has been done about it.Is it possible to have ur direct lines Sir like your predecessor did, so dat in situations like dis we can notify u.Almost ninety nine percent of Ago roads are in a bad state streets inclusive.Ilasa industrial area linking Akpata Sch round about is bad too.

If he says he wil do it surely he wil bcos he is a man of his words. I wish him all d best.

Ipadeola, you are so on point. The so called link roads are nothing but a shame. Fine houses every where in ago palace with no single good road. It's really frustrating. Please Ambode help us complete the road. People are really suffering. My tear rubber car that is barely a year is now looking like I've used it for several years
