My classmate was stopped from entering the school today (Federal University of Technology Minna) because the school security thinks she was exposing her hips too much...she had to beg to attend her Lecture this morning. As soon as she came into the class she asked me how I entered the school wearing a high waist Jeans with a hip size 50" lol..Do you think anything is wrong with what my friend is wearing? We are being harassed by this security everyday in day for no just cause...Even when you are wearing a normal top and a pair of jeans...

Let's be logical and set aside negative vibe concerning that girl's outfit. I am an Ijaw by tribe but a muslim by faith and born in Northern Nigeria. To most of you guys living outside of North its deemed to be normal for a female to dress like this girl did. Wearing high waist jean, for example. But in North, they are NOT being mumu or perverts as most of you people will paint it, but they are trying to instill discipline and maintain modesty which is part of their faith they practice. So to them its VERY WRONG (I agree with them) but to most of you guys and ladies who see it in a different view in the name of fashion or following western culture its deem as normal. So please, my message to that girls is that she should expect what she went thru when such tight jean reveals her contours and you can't deny the fact that its against their moral principles of clothing. So please let her dress "better". I aint saying she has to put on hijab, no. All I am saying is that wearing cloth like her tight jean is to revealing for a man's eye to see especially watching her walk from behind and her 50inch hip bounce "upandan" in such cloth, is somehow tempting. I hope anybody especially the one using this platform to complain understands my point without insulting me?

I believe it. I happen to school there and sometimes I'm stopped at the gate for putting on normal stretched jeans. I stopped putting on skirts because of the harassment I got in my year 1. It is so true.

Methinks their complaint and the girl's response would have been better appreciated if the pictures revealed her backside. They complained of the hips but we are presented with pictures showing the legs! I think, therefore, that any comment on the correctness or lack of it by the security is premature until the right pictures are made available. Lol

It is difficult to conclude. There is no photo of the back or side view just the front view hence difficult to reach a firm conclusion without being biased. If it is based on the front view only then she is innocent of the charge. However without seeing evidence of the above mentioned views, one can be misled by the front view photo submitted for our opinion. I hope that is a fair assessment.
God is a Good God, FUT-Minna Security are well train and they keep to the letter, instructions and instill security consciousness giving by the Management. such instructions are for safety, she should had turn her back, because legging is not forbidden but modesty is encouraged. little wonder she turn her ID Card backward because she knowns are wrong, FUTMINNA is a nice place to be at all times by God's Mercy and Grace the School is living to great expectations.
