Netflix selects Spectranet for first server deployment in West Africa

Netflix, the World’s leading Internet TV service and Spectranet, Nigeria’s leading 4G broadband service provider, today announced the deployment of one of the first dedicated Netflix servers in Africa.

This high capacity server will hold the entire Netflix content library, in Lagos, providing Spectranet’s customers with the best possible video streaming performance.

This solution offers faster delivery in a cost effective way. Mr David Venn, CEO of Spectranet, said “because we focus on providing families with an excellent and affordable broadband service, this partnership with Netflix means that our customers will be able to enjoy the very best TV experience available in Nigeria. We are honoured that Netflix has selected Spectranet for one of its first deployments in Africa and the only one in West Africa.”

Netflix offers a new way of watching TV, giving its members the ability to enjoy TV series and films when, how and where they want with seamless, instant access across TVs, tablets, smartphones, game consoles and computers. Netflix offers a great entertainment experience with many titles available in high-definition with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound and some in Ultra HD 4K and HDR.

With fast.com, a simple-to-use website that helps people see how fast their Internet connection is, whether on mobile or broadband - Netflix offers an independent tool that consumers can use for greater insight and control of their Internet service.

People in Nigeria can try Netflix for free for one month by signing up at www.netflix.com.

Linda, this your adverts have become very annoying. Popping up beyond boundaries. I think we need to start checking out other sites and forget this your own.

good one...I have a concern about this though. We all know Netflix segregates the movies the offer different regions. with this set up, they are ble to offer us full rubbish and collect our hard earned money. TOTALLY WRONG!!! If there is a way to guarantee that as their servers in Los Gatos are being uploaded, so will ours and with the same content then i will be a satisfied customer. Which reminds me. I have decided not to chill with Netflix anymore as i am being scammed!
