Actress Stephanie Okereke Linus just shared behind-the-scene pics of a Hollywood movie she's currently shooting in the US. The actress plays Doris, a lady whose generation were slaves from Nigeria. The movie is set in 1906 and is titled BoonVille Redemption. Stephanie said the movie borders on forgiveness,
truth, redemption, love & everyone was treated
equally in the movie without racial barriers. See more photos after the cut...
Stephanie talks about the movie...
How do you feel about being back on set after being absent for quite a while?
I am very excited. It hasn't been a long absence. I just finished
shooting some episodes for my upcoming Reality TV Show – "Make Me
Fabulous". However, this is a Western movie and I’m very glad to be
among the cast. It’s something different, it’s a faith based movie and
it’s really something I’d love to do.
What is your role in the movie?
I
play the role of Doris, a lady from the second generation of slave
trade in America whose parents came from Nigeria. Doris is no longer a
slave and she lives with her Uncle in this community where people are
not judged by their race or colour. She is a strong compassionate woman
who forms a bond with a young girl, Melinda, who grew up not knowing her
father. Doris plays the role of convincing her Uncle to reveal the
truth to this young girl about her father’s whereabouts. She also helps
take care of Miss Mary, Melinda's grandmother when she was ill and
sheltered a young boy who had no place to stay.
Where is the movie being shot?
The movie is shot in Los Angeles,USA.
What else brings you to Los Angeles?
Not
only am I acting in this movie, I am currently doing post-production
for my soon to be released movie, DRY which I’m also very excited about.

A couple, whom we shall call John and Mary, had a nice home and two lovely children, a boy and a girl. John had a good job and had just been asked to go on a business trip to another city and would be gone for several days. It was decided that Mary needed an outing and would go along too. They hired a reliable woman to care for the children Read here and be inspired

Intriguing!
Gud 1 steph.........u luk prity even in dat attire...........
Wow, she's doing an #LupitaNyongo styled movie. Hope she gets an Oscar nomination too for this. And then, I think the caption of this piece should either read Hollywood movie or Western Movie. Please pardon me if i'm wrong though.
"Doris is no longer a slave and she lives with her Uncle in this community where people are not judged by their race or colour" In 1906 American south? I don't think so.
Good luck!
Kimmy *****
Good for her. Hope it will take her to where she wants to be. Guess she has a good agent that landed her this role. Hopefully she will be the first Nigerian to win the oscars. Fingers crossed that her movie DRY wont be dry.

very impressive....we need to encourage people like stephanie linus so as to keep selling the NIGERIAN BRAND in the international scene........
I love this lady!
I love Western movies. Can't wait to see this one..especially with our own in it. Congrats Steph. Big Ups :)
Its not a village, its called the countryside. Mtchewww
and did you not see where it's set in the year 1906? I tiya.
Is Lupita the first or only one to do this kind of role? you people are annoying with your ignorant statement.
Wow she is going big
She is up to something I love the courage
nice one, being the best at what you do steph. keep it coming.
that is a good attempt by our fellow Nigerian. also check out LuvC social network lunched by a nigerian from India...it's really stunning and meeting the global standard. www.luvc.me.
I Love to see our people doing something outstanding
It's an indie movie but it is a giant stride for her.
Will make a lot of sense if we see something different from black African stars than slave movies all the time. Enough of all these bullshit movies. We know enough about slavery...Roots captures it well...No point riding on the slave movies for fame or an Oscar nominee...My humble opinion
Kudos to you steph....weldone!
No village like dis,dis is a movie set.all u seen now was built just for d movie.kapish........
Stephanie thumb up for u my dear u re moving forward
nkiru4love@yahoo.com
Cool.
That setting reminds me of Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles.
I trust 'em Elizabethan movies to always impress.
I hope this doesn't disappoint.
Looking forward to the movie like seriously.

Kini onso?
Someone said "rubbish"! Jealousy Jealousy, lol,! Babe I luv you, keep moving..
Do you want to know how dis beautiful babe got to the top? Now she is at the top, someone is jealous. She went through a lot, can remember Stephnie in 1999, now she is there and someone that knows nothing about her story is jealouse ... Jealousy loma pa yin.
Thank you babe, more of this!
No one should compare her to lupita. Lupita just got lucky.
Sounds interesting..
But her hair is relaxed now. Or did slaves use relaxer on their hair back then? I guess the oyinbo director doesn't understand African hair to fix that detail
Go steph! Bravo good one! Waiting for ur movie as well. Genevieve nwa nnaji where is ur movie I ask again? Abi u still cross leg dey wait for Angelina jolie script xter?.
Cocky? Inferiority complex dey worry u
Awkward moment when the interviewee be telling the interviewer questions to ask!
Welldone Steph. (Linda's Man)
steph, you are one in a milion i really like you. Preciousezekiel@gmail.com
Looooll yh lupita wana be
I believe in Nigeria despite the dehumanizing attitudes of our miserable and greedy leaders, we will continue to break boundaries. Good one my sis.
nice one.please act it well o.i trust u sha.win Oscar net season o
Stephanie is beautiful. Dark, lovely, natural, even without a trace of make-up and no brazillian, chai
Lupita wannabe but u ugly Evans what have u achieved?
Ignorant fool go get DSTV and watch movies.. So cos Lupita played slave and she is now playing slave it means all the movies are slave movies? Ignorant senseless comments like yours irritate me so much
So cos u were not brought up to be ambitious others cannot aspire to? She has started and will get there while cynics like u who have nothing to offer humanity will just keep marking time..... Very stupid moment from u indeed.....
Kimmy what do you know? Ignorant mofo.... When slave trade was abolished there were some communities that embraced the blacks..agreed some where more hostile than others which was one of the reasons for the north and south war at that time... U do not know the script more than those who wrote it and must have done some research.... So pls shut up with your oversabi cos u don't know shit
Sadly with your attitude u can never make it in life.... Jealous bitch at least she is going somewhere..... Where r u going?
Your humble opinion is stupid..as dont u have a telly at home? Don't u see movies premiers that have other subject matter apart from slavery? How humans like u reason is beyond me..... Senseless
Foolish talk go and google when the stretching comb was invented by a black woman
Very naive people here comparing her 2 Nupita.
Steph I love u.....Keep soaring higher. #Do ur thing!!!!!
what a great work....she eis so talented......i think she is pregnant! i love u maam...
She is better dn u,lyk u hv achievd anytn ,joblexx u
