IG of Police says no use of mobile phone cameras to record voting proceedings

Hafiz Ringim, the Inspector General of Police, is warning Nigerians not to use mobile phone cameras to record voting proceedings during the April 2011 elections.

What is he afraid of? But I trust Nigerians, you guys will probably go with your camcorders if you had one...lol

BTW, Hafiz Ringim was commissioner of police in Bayelsa when Goodluck Jonathan was Governor of Bayelsa. GEJ appointed Ringim as Inspector General of Police. Just thought to chip that in.

I know they have plans to RIG!!! Thanks Linda, what are they afraid for?? God this people are too selfish, am still too sad about losing that young girl to carelessness of our government to have words for them.
I hope Amara would be able to compose himself and ask them some serious questions tonight, cause I think he knows Chidinma and he his upset. I know he is not the one Anchoring the debate, but hope he will be fine.
Tell this man to shut up abeg. There would be a revolution soon in this country, the government think we are Joking.
People say they are afraid to die, but we are dieing anyways.

Like are you effing kidding me..Like do this people take us as monkeys..I just don`t get my country anymore. This just pisses me off to my guts, am so appalled..Like why would someone set up that freaking stupid rule out of the blue..perhaps he was high on ganja when he was making that statement.. Just to toss this in, to those voting Jonathan i want you to think of your kids 10years from now..If this country keeps going like this, then, we are in trouble. not just trouble, Big trouble. As the country stands now, our system is so feeble that it feels like we just held by a strand of blonde hair..Yes, blonde hair, that`s how soft and lose the system is. Let's put it this way, if we get it wrong this time, we are in trouble, it's just that simple. Guess what, only the middle class/ poor nigerians will suffer this and the rich men would just fly their family overseas. The only way i see nigeria changing is Buhari for 4years to clean the system up and a Fashola come 2015. That is the only option we have people. Ask your parents about Buhari and get an idea of his track record. For the record, i live out of the country so this is not a campaign tactic, i love my country and i love it`s people.. Let`s get it right now people, let`s get it right people. Forget tribe, religion and let`s focus on less words but more action. Enuff Said.

This is intimidation of the highest order. They don't want any evidence of the rigging they have planned to do. Me, I did not register but I will carry my handset that on election day and record proceeding as an independent election observer. Let them come and arrest me.
