PHCN official trying to rescue his colleague also electrocuted (photos)

Yes, unfortunately both men died according to a LIB source at the scene who sent in the pics. The first one climbed the pole to fix the light and got electrocuted (read here). And his colleague climbed up to see if he could bring the dead man down, but he was also electrocuted. How unfortunate!

Quite pathetic! See how people die because of unsafe acts, lack of knowledge, ignorance and poor communication!!

A good hearted fellow, he died trying to rescue but our political class would rather kill than salvage anyone

God is a Good God. I dont think these people studied elect/elect else they will see the naked cable around the pole, which normally will even be damaging the transformer. I wont be amazed if the people on the pole are not tertiary graduate because most of the once in Minna are secondary dropped out, they will not want to employ Graduate to do the Job and will be charging exorbitant amount. God have mercy on PHCH

There is absolutely no way a power company will send its technicians out without proper training so this is not a matter of them not being trained. It's an unfortunate incident. RIP to them.

The second man is not dead. He is currently receiving treatment Gbagada General Hospital. Please send him prayers instead of wishing him RIP.

so sad!. the Management of the PHCN, not sure of the cause of the initial incidence, ought to have switched off the supply from base before allowing another officer to climb same ladder to help the other colleague. This is a blatant error from the Management, and the family of the latter family can sue the Management of PHCN for this. inemvent@gmail.com
