Between Tuesday, 17November andThursday, 26November the awards were
presented to students, teachers and schools who excelled in the examinations,
thereby setting the pace for others.
Regarding state awards, 111 candidates consisting of the three best
performing candidates in each of the thirty-six states and the Federal Capital
Territory, Abuja, have been rewarded in 13 zonal centers namely; Ikeja, Kano,
Ibadan, Zaria, Jos, Enugu, Benin, Owerri, Akure, Ilorin, Abuja, Onitsha and

Furthermore, one teacher from the school of the first prize winner in
each state received special recognition during the events in appreciation of
their great contributions to the students’ success at the NECO June/July SSCE
in 2015. In addition, the Foundation also donated books to the libraries of the
schools that produced the three best performing candidates in each state.
The national awards will go to
the overall best three candidates, and prizes will also be presented to the
overall best candidates in four selected subjects: New ConceptPrize for the Best Grade in
Mathematics, New Concept Prize for theBest Grade in English Language, Dr.Ameyo
Stella Adadevoh Prize for the Best Grade in Biology and J. F. Ade-Ajayi Prize

The awards for Biology and History were introduced in 2014 to honour the
memories of two eminent Nigerians who distinguished themselves in their
professional callings and are consequently worthy of emulation by our youth.
The national award ceremony will hold in Protea Hotel, Isaac John GRA,
Ikeja, on Wednesday 2 December, 2015. Invited students, teachers, parents, schools
and the media are expected at the awards presentation.
It is hoped that this gesture will encourage and challenge our youth to
make greater efforts to achieve excellent results in their academic endeavours
and apply themselves more towards succeeding.
