Photo: Help locate the family of this elderly woman seen by the roadside in Ikeja

A LIB reader sent in this information. Help is need in locating the family of an elderly woman seen by the roadside in Ikeja, Lagos. Although our reader and some police officers tried engaging her in a discussion, her words were not coherent and it appears she has old age memory loss. From what they however gathered, it appears she left home for church. She also keeps talking about her children and late husband.

Our people need to have more knowledge about dementia. This is a clear one. Its so sad seeing our old ones in this condition all because of ignorance.

Could we please have a full face photo and also from the other side of her face? A relative of more that 75 years has been missing for more that 12 months so it is hard to tell. Better still which police station can one go to verify face to face. Thanks for this.

Common social ills!! The Police should have taken her to a shelter, a safe place while trying to locate her family but these services are non existent. She is old, has memory loss and probably wondered away yet the police that spoke to her was unable to provide basic safety for her because he is not trained to do that and the system easily forget their elderly, disabled and poor ones. Poor lady!!
