Drama at Nigerian High Commission in London today (photos)

An email from a LIB reader
The Nigeria High Commission in London needs an urgent overhaul. This afternoon we Nigerians were treated like animals in Fleet street London all because we want to do BVN for those of us that have accounts in Nigeria. Things soon became chaotic and someone called police on us. They allowed us converge on the street and then locked us out. We are also being forced to pay £30.00 each but none of the officials or the website can explain what the money is for. Is it not free in Nigeria?

Oh! BVN is stil ongoing for d deadline has b postpone. So no need 4d panic to register. I wish them well, and its absolutely free over here in Nigeria.

BONARIO NNAGS said...

But why did things become chaotic, is that that they couldn't be orderly, and yep inviting the police to restore order is not out of place.
As for the money they're being asked to pay officials of the High commission should explain that Asap.

Can someone explain to me why we like suffering ourselves, to register for BVN , in UK at our embassy turned out to be an avenue to dupe people by asking them to pay £30 per person. It is very shameful and unacceptable.

We can like to show ourselves abeg. That's how they requested for extra money to renew my son's passport. Ndi oshi.

The High Commission is providing a service and that has to be paid for. If you do not wish to use their service kindly purchase a flight ticket to Nigeria and complete the BVN registration. There is no free lunch anyway.

Thats why PRESIDENT BUHARI should now send a technocrat as ambassador to the commission in London. The man that used to be there never got involved in things. Why have an ambassador who folds his/her arms when needed. Pls get rid of one in South Africa as well where Nigerians are being abused regularly yet the Ambassador do nothing

Free lunch indeed!!! That's the same way Western countries charge their citizens in the diaspora. Abi? A typical example is when Americans vote in the diaspora. If you dont have any tangible thing to add to this discourse don't spread incorrect information. IF ITS FREE FOR ANY NIGERIAN IT SHOULD BE FREE FOR ALL NIGERIANS. Stop the discrimination joor.

That's soo fraudulent

Unknown said...

Say No to BVN payment. It is illegal, it is extortion on Nigerians in Diaspora whom are struggling for a living as a result of the failed Government. It is fraudulent to obtain money for a BVN registration. Citizens shouldn't pay for their own money to be safe in Banks. The Governor of Central bank should be questioned. New public office holder, new ways of extortion. #NoBVNpayment.
