The Lagos State Commissioner for Transport has announced the temporary suspension of the closure of Third Mainland Bridge (the longest bridge in West Africa), which was scheduled for today, Sunday, July 1, 2012.
He said the Federal Ministry of Works is not ready to commence the repair works and will let Lagosians know when all issues have been resolved.

Tick Tick says the clock, what u have to do, do quick.
much as we know d partial closure will cause a lot of restriction to movt but it had better be done before a major calamity occurs.
Why am I not surprised, Nigerians are never prepared until its 2 late, are they waiting for the bridge to collapse before they make repairs, #dejavu Dana air#, anyway thank God, I work on the island, I have been thinking how I would cope with traffic for 4 mths.
Ohw ..beta den!
hmmm...i just hope the money for the repairs is nt in someone's bank a/c

That will happen when d bridge collapses... God forbid!!
Politics of bitterness again by PDP led FG. Until sumtin bad happen dey wil now set up committee to unravel d cause. If LASG can do it alone dat fine.
The question now is, How safe are Lagosians plying that bridge??
I mean If they were gonna take that drastic action closing the bridge? Surely its could be just more than repair works...
Phew.Thank God.

It is alright but they should put that thing that causes at traffic at Adeniji back to its position bcos there is always traffic there before now it is adding up to it. Pls they should just stop making life uncomfortable for us.

Yea rite! till people start dying before they will be ready. Nonsense! A stitch in time saves nine.
WHAT CAN I SAY? ITS GOOD THEY'RE CONSIDERING REPAIRING THE BRIDGE, ITS ONLY BAD THEY HAVEN'T PUT IN PLACE ALTERNATIVE MEASURES TO CURB THE TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON THE ROADS ELSE ROAD USERS WILL HAVE TO ENDURE THE NIGHTMARE TO & FRO THEIR DESTINATIONS...I HOPE THEY COME UP WITH A GOOD IDEA
