Nigeria with our usual "wrong" way of tackling things! Nobody need the IG phone number. Make emergency line available in every local police stations. And make it workable and known to the population. And also make the response of officers and men of the force to emergency situations propmt. That is what we need. Dont centralize everything.

Av called the one for Lagos before when my friend was kidnapped with her car and a front desk personnel answered it and transfered d call to police, pls pple should appreciate their effort! Some people say they should open a hotline. Thats how I came to Naija 2 yrs ago for christmas Hols with my brother. Around 11:30pm at night while relaxing and watching tv upstairs with family, We heard some commotion going outside. Fast forward 10 mins later: I, My brothers, and parents locked our self in the master bathroom and called Rapid Response. I will never forget the response. The foolish girl on the other end of the line sounded like she had just awoken from a deep sleep. I said " Please can you get the police down here. It seems like some people are trying to break into our house or our neighbors house cos the noises are very loud outside". The Bitch (yes I said Bitch) said "we dont have fuel in the van. We would have to wait for someone to come in and fuel the vans first before they come over". She took my cell phone number and address and never called me back till today. Its just God that saved us we called Estate Security and they came with guns. It ended up being one of the semi-completed vacant houses that was being vandalized by robbers. SMH! Still so scarred by the whole incident.
