Olasupo Shasore (SAN) enlightens guests on History and Policies of Lagos' Architecture

Open House Lagos kicked off with an applaudable debate on Thursday, 27th April 2017 at Lagos’ first certified building, Heritage Place, No. 21 Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos.

 Well attended by Architects, Land Surveyors and urban design enthusiasts, the debate was declared open by the project manager of Open House Lagos 2017, Mrs. Olamide Udoma Ejorh.

Presenting a remarkable key note presentation was Mr. Olasupo Shasore SAN who took the audience on an interesting journey of the past, present and future of Architecture in Lagos. In a concluding remark, he described Lagos as a “pedestrian city that is not pedestrian friendly” hence certain policies have to be put in place and attended to in order to have the Lagos we all dream of.
The keynote speech was shortly followed by a panel discussion with Mrs. Kofo Adeleke, Mrs. Titi Adeleye, Mr. Tuoyo Jemerigbe and was moderated by Mrs. Annette Fisher. Topics discussed included the importance of resident friendly cities, urbanism and protecting structures that represents the heritage of our city.

Bringing the debate to a close was Open House Lagos Board Member, Papa Omotayo who also declared the tour of Heritage Place open.
