I've witnessed this close to my house one day and in my opinion, one of the 'thieves'actually did the burning so his caught mate won't have the opportunity of confessing. It's inhuman but sometimes I just feel they deserve it.

Though this burning alive method is a bit extreme and maybe innocent people have even been killed this way as a result of hasty judgement but some of these thieves have robbed, murdered, raped and mutilated fellow humans too. Ruined a lot of lives without remorse. Crucify me if you like, but I must say that the guilty ones deserve whatever form of punishment they get! You reap what you sow!!

Youtube has removed the video. Nothing spoil - it would only have left a bitter taste in my mouth anyway and messed my mind up.
But on the same note, the root cause of the jungle justice is directly traceable to the leadership and authority in a country.
When the government and the people that are supposed to enforce justice, fairness and equity have turned their back on the people for so long and the people have become frustrated at the lackadiasical attitude to the suffering and oppression of the poor - they tend to take the law into their own hands.
Look at the story you ran the other day about the okada man that kidnapped killed and canibalised a woman. On further research I discovered that the man since returning from his ECOMOG deployment had committed the same offence before and had even killed his own family. He was given a life sentence then about 7 years ago but barely served a year before the people in high places whom he regularly supplies body parts for their fetish rituals pulled some strings to have him released from a life sentence in prison.
Now, wouldnt the community be frustrated to the point that the next person that commits a crime like that is summarily dealt with rather than give them an opportunity to escape their punishment and wreck greater havock on the community again?
Truth be said - Nigeria is full speed ahead to becoming a completely failed state and the idiots we have as leaders are doing the macarbre dance of death whilst busy gorging themselves with bribes, kick backs and kick fronts.

You never can tell what really happened if you've raped, robbed or any of your relations been killed by this devils you won't be saying this. They don't pity you during their operation so why should you. Probably he just killed his victim and he was caught. I can see why people make such decision and think its ok, I guess an eye for an eye," I have personally had the misfortune of being in a house that was robbed in ABA (Jan 4th 2010), mind you this was days after my wedding(Dec. 29th 2009), a few weeks after I visited Nigeria(Dec. 2nd 2009) after 3years and these thieves rapped the house girl and I was to be next, but I begged and claimed I was pregnant, (now the first time ever I was saved by a lie), People tell me God was just watching over me because that don't normally stop them. And mind you my husband is from one of those villages that if you sleep with another man that is not your husband, you will go crazy (believe it or not, but I was not about to find out from these thieves, and only God knows what sort of disease these people carry). I have also had the displeasure of witnessing a burning person, again in another one of my trips to Nigeria, imagine me in a cab and there is a human being burning along with a bike, that pretty much killed my day, the things that kept going through my mind, what if person is really innocent, what if it was their first time, this is someone's child, what will the mother of this person think happened to their child, what could God be thinking about this, and how on God's green earth are all these people able to just stand there and watch while another being burns to ashes, and my God the sting, you can smell the sting of a burning skin miles before you see it. As I type I can still smell that sting and see the horrifying event in my head. All that being said, my question to all that say these thieves deserve what they get, as long as this practice has been going on in Nigeria, has it stopped armed robbery, or these armed robbers cruelty for that matter. An eye for an eye never solves any problem as a matter of fact, I personally believe a thieve will do anything in his/her power to shut a person up, if they believe this will be their fate if caught. What gives you the right to take a life you did not and will never create? If you think it's ok to burn a thieve, then head over to the nearest govt. house, look in the mirror. A few weeks ago, some guys were on facebook hailing ex Enugu State governor Chimaroke, why is he different from the person that gets burnt on the streets? Abegi make I hear word! This must be the same armed robbers I read about in the SUN 2 wks ago. They were terrorizing the town of Ibusa in Delta state. Police went in on them during a robbery and they began shooting at the police, killing atleast 10 people! The police eventually caught 3 out of the thieves. Local residents then burnt them alive.
So after killing 10 people becos they were spraying bullets in the air, they should not be burnt alive abi? I say BURN the mutha fuckers some more. BASTARDS!!!

If you realise that even when you report these matters to the police the victims are sometimes released, you need to think twice. You don't want to encounter a criminal that you reported to the police, in an environment where you might be defemceless. There is an order of priority for all we do; first fix the law enforcement, then these issues of gore or no gore will become pertinent. At these point it is defend yourself, you never know!
