How can you target Nigerians and not have a singe black model? does that even make sense?

Naomi Lucas said...

AI agree with the first comment plus: who wears boots in this kind of weather? Wrong entry tactics and not enough consideration for the likes of their target audience. I wish them the best.

Anonymous said...

My thoughts exactly! Targets Nigerians? Where are they? and what cardigans are we shopping for in Nigeria?

Anonymous said...

selling strategy or should i say marketing mix of some company can be so annoying. Where are are Nigeria pretty damsel or is their faces scaring the phographers.

Actually, out of all these online stores for Naija, the one I still prefer is that Bluloft store. I think their prices are reasonable :)

Thanks Linda for talking about Sabunta.com.

We want all our fans to know that the entire team at Sabunta.com is working 24 hours everyday to make the shopping experience exciting for every Nigeria. We sincerely appreciate the comments we've received since we launched on Thursday last week.

You'll notice new things coming up everyday including a focus on Nigerian content for the Nigerian user within the next few days.

Remember though, we offer free delivery in Nigeria and over 150 brands (constantly growing). We are also going to offer opportunities to Nigerian fashion designers and brands to showcase their work while providing Cash-On-Delivery services that will lead to all payment options available for a cashless fashion society.

Thanks for talking about Sabunta.com and watch as we unfold the largest e-commerce website in Nigeria within the next few weeks.

I like the site

Ok, I had to comment on this one. This is such a bold step you guys have taken sabunta. Apart from your true religion jeans stock which itself is quite overpriced, no other stock falls in the luxury fashion category, yet you have chosen to adopt the business model used by luxury online retailers such as net-a-port who I happen to work with in the London office. Their customers agree to pay the obvious premium because of the accompanying services and they really don't have the time to visit shops. It is very expensive to offer a replica of in-store experience online. A lot of people will order stuff with cash on delivery option just to try it out because they can (yes, they'll take the piss), hope you are ready for such overhead. I'm sure the true religion jeans would cover that. Abeg reduce the price of ur stuffs and let customers pay for shipping. Nigerians like knowing what they're paying for. At least I will ensure to order what I like and i'm sure of, because I am paying extra for delivery, and I wont feel bumped if I see it cheaper else where.

Nice concept, but poor innovation and marketing.

Are u guys blind or dumb, the 1st pix, that has d girl with d black tank top, isint she black, abi she be green? Foooools!... Even if d models are white so? If u dont wanto buy u'll gan sleep nw, and stop lamentin

Miss Fash said...

Too expensive, nothing in d store is dat attractive for me to spend dat much, except mayb d perfumes. I'd rather spend my day shopping in balogun market, I dnt mind d hassle.

Anonymous said...

The products on the site are over priced and not all that fashionable. If they want to make it a success they should store things that are attractive.
Not a mile stone as far as am concerned and most of the stuff are just like cast offs, disappointing.

Anonymous said...

if sabunta peeps have any sense they shud use these comments as a 'focus group'.... those items are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced and not so attractive, comme ci comme sa... re-strategise or else
....GOODLUCK ! (we all know what that means ;)

Anonymous said...

as far as I know sabunta is overpriced so is blu loft, I've shopped with phoenix online clothing and their prices are reasonable.
