"If I lose, I will leave" - Goodluck Jonathan

“If I lose, of course I will leave. That is the essence of using myself as an experiment. As to whether the election will go into a re-run, I pray that we don't go into a bye-election, because of the cost implication. Nigeria is a very big country, if you calculate the colossal sum of money for the ad-hoc staff, then, for economic reason and to even reduce tension. We pray that whoever wins should win at the first ballot.” - President Goodluck Jonathan said shortly after casting his vote in his hometown

I heard him saying this live on tv yesterday. I think GEJ should be commended for appointing Jega a technocrat to head INEC. He is living by example.

Oh shut up, what cost...is it the N3billion per state he allocated for his campaign?? Over N100bil spent buying Tinubu, ACN and APGA to win SW and SE?? Yet only won by 60%??? A big shame and disgrace. Sorry but we lack knowledge in Nigeria and I used to be on his side but so ashamed by his thinking, he could have used N1bil per state to really transform each one, repair roads, even have straight electricity for 3ths straight! Now that would have had people running to the polls to vote for him.
I am ashamed on Goodluck, ashamed on Nigerians and ashamed of any so called progress we are yet to make! This is not about voting religious lines, I am a born again Christian from Igbo land and even I know that God can move Pharaoh and forget this whole he's God's choice, God gives us free will, the Israelites wanted a king and though he was bad for them, they persisted and God granted them.
I stand to gain nothing from anyone of them, especially GL, seeing that he wasted a year already.
Here's to 4 more years of facebook annoucements about "what he is going to do", of robbing the treasury, of him bowing to the real powers that be...silly puppet! This is the reason the rest of the World has taking to mocking us! I thank God for my blue passport, it remains my "umblerra" in times like this :-)
Oh wait, what about that $1 million that Patience gave her sister to take to SA back when they were rocking Bayelsa??? How quickly we forget! Such a joke of a country!!!

You Know It, Please shut the F up. Its because of people like you that Nigeria can't progress, you find fault in everything. If Buhari comes in power you'll complain. Let's us stay with the one that we know is doing something.

How about spelling "lose" right in the heading.

Well, he has won. Oju ti awon olote!

Anonymous@7:46, why didn't you spell it for her so that we could laugh at you? Mr or Ms 'Know-IT-All'? What a twit?

Buhari is not educated and should have to the senate before contesting but he felt too big...

Buahri would have turned Nigeria into another Zimbabwe and fight with world leaders. Goodluck is much better.

Buhari would preach to Bakare, turn him back to a Muslim and Nigeria would become another Zamfara by force. Buhari is a fanatic without much to offer. Good riddance!

Anon April 17, 2011 7:46 PM; what should it be? If it's not lose, should it be LOOSE or LOSS in your reckoning. SMDH!
IF indeed!! Like he was going to LOSE?

@You Know it- you are one of the reasons why this country is not moving forward. You can't blame Goodluck Jonathan for everything- what about your state governor, what has he done for your state? Afterall, Nigeria has a federal system and everyone must contribute his quota in order to develope our nations but oh no, ignorant critics like you prefer to blame the senators, the president and PDP for all our ills. We must also hold ourselves accountable- you should know- you call yourself a Bible reading born-again Christian- the Israelis contributed their quota toward building their community- that is why Israel is back on the world map today as a nation. Perhaps your energy might be better spent looking for ways of improving your nation (and asking your community to do the same too while you are at it). As for that blue passport you are taking pride in, just know that it will not follow you to heaven- only your faith in God. If there is a war in Europe or America, home is surely the first place you will run back to if worse comes to worse!

Nah wah for Nigerians,How will you attack someone for saying her mind, She obviously is very intelligent and is not confused or affected by the "Sheep complex" that has eaten deep into Nigerians. She only said the obvious,It was indeed cash for vote. The money spent on buying voters cud really have gone a long way to better some lives.Someone said buhari is an illiterate.... Good lord - see ignorance.Do you know that Lawrence Gbagbo is a Prof? Robert Mugabe has 3 degrees(University of London, University of Forte Hare and oxford)? Do you know that Ghadafi attendended Hellenic Military Engineering Academy in Anthens, Greece, This school is one of the oldest and the best in the world. Jerry Rawlings who is an international hero today did not go to a university. Get your priorities right. Nigerian governors, senators, assemly members are degree holders pls tell me how well they have performed- Looters, killers, asssins. Let's be reasonable at least.

My people, "You know it" actually makes sense, our problem is that we claim to want change, but really dont understand what change is all about. We've lived in a dysfunctional country for too long, that we think this is how countries should be run. Goodluck should not be wasting the treasury for his campaign...Our country needs the money! I dont care if you have a salaried job but the fact is many people are suffering around us and can barely afford to each a good meal, each day.
Sometimes the truth stinks, Goodluck hasnt done anything. Please produce proper facts, not just "is doing something", doing what? for your village, abi his own village?
I'll revisit this in a year and I bet you we'll still be spending N2k a day on generator at home!

@anon April 17,2011,7:38PM... u nailed it for me,if i don't support GEJ to be elected as Nigeria president doesn't mean that i hv to be complaining, he is a chosen one from God and there is nothing anybody can do it, the next thing for us now is just to support him in prayer and support bcos it is not an easy task to be a husband of woman talkless of helding to the highest post of the other. Nobody knows Fashola b4 he was elected as Lagos state Gov.,though he was part of tinubu administration but few people knew him but he came out with high expectation thru the helping hands of God.
Let us support GEJ in prayer so that he will be merciful to all Nigerians.

Luqman.

Na wah o, but why do people even come here and be abusing each other over their comments? It's their opinion for God's sake. Their opinion may/or may not the the fact. It's really funny to me how we Nigerians use words and are quick to call someone a fool for their opinion? People you don't even know and may never know or see! I can only imagine the exchange/abuse/fight that will take place should you guys respond face-to-face.

Why do u blab too much with about ur blue passport and the rest? No one is perfect on that seat. So it will be wise for you to pray that he does something at least. Rather than torturing ur self.
