Help Us Discover Other 'Olajumoke' in Your Area

One of the most sensational stories of 2016 is the discovery of Olajumoke, a bread seller by respected photographer, TY Bello. The bread seller has been transformed by the assistance and investment of others. She is now on a path that would have been impossible without the help of others.

 

Adejoke Adegun, the CEO of Xqwizit has set out to discover the many Olajumokes among Lagos indigents and those would could have made it in the fashion and modelling industry if they have support.

‘I reason that there are many Olajumokes among us. They just need to be discovered’ she said.

To this end, she is launching Discovery for Recovery, a project aimed at discovering ‘diamonds in the rough’. She is asking the general public to nominate anyone in their area who can benefit from this project. ‘Anybody currently going through rough times but has hidden beauty and can excel as a model or in the fashion industry, help us discover the person’ she said.

After going through different processes and being empowered to learn ‘how to fish’ for themselves the finalists will be given N200 000 each and mentored to begin to fly.

The project basically looks at scouting beautiful ladies with model-potential from those under-served communities in Lagos, give them a full physical mental and social make-over and give them a Platform to Shine and get a better life

The “Discovery for Recovery” focuses on ladies between the ages of 18 and 26; with the aim to enlarge the scope, when the funding gets healthier. This programme is for those living in Lagos at the moment.

While the company is at the moment funding the project on its purse, there are efforts being made to get the support of LSTEF, Lagos State Empowerment Fund, and other sponsorship channels to enlarge its scope and make more positive impacts on the Nigerian woman, and by extension, the society as a whole.
