Observed, subsidy removal, with all humility and honesty I have feelings for Linda Ikeji and would sincerely wish to meet her in person this year as part of my resolution.
Buhari and his team lacks common sense. I bet three years from now they will still keep blaming the past administration for their failure instead of bringing solutions and plans to better this country on the table
Senator Ben how many people were really buying kerosene at 50 naira in the last regime? Ask women in your constituency? I can tell you for a fact that most people got it at 100+ naira. The 50 naira was unrealistic. It cost more than that to produce it.
At 83 naira it is still cheaper than actual market price. So no need to complain.
What are you doing to reduce the allowances collected by legislators? Remember all your promises when you came in? Can you come up with ways of cutting your allowances and what / how that money can be channelled to things that would benefit the masses?
2 years ago despite crude selling for $130 per barrel the FGN was subsiding kerosene for it to "retail at NGN50". The reality is nobody bought it at the subsidised price. Average kerosene price per litre 2 years ago was NGN120. Fast forward to 2016, crude sells for less than $30, FGN has removed subsidy and kerosene now retails for not less than NGN83. Senator Bruce, this is called subsidy removal mathematics.
Abeg ask that Buhari and his noise maker ministers. Change my foot. May God punish all of them liars who have brought untold suffering to poor Nigerians
...where is common sense in your enquiry of govt increasing kerosene from #50 to #83, pastoral govt has claimed to be subsidizing the product @50 naira per litre without any kerosene to show for this. if now govt has removed subside and product is been sell relatively @80 naira pre litre while product is available everywhere that is a common sense yeye man..

Sorry to say but were is the common sense linda, $130 crude to N50 kerosene the level of subsidy no get part two to make the product available to the masses. But @$28 crude to N843 Kerosene no more subsidy nah oga senator....Hmmmmm
What a shame. No wonder the country is not moving forward. If this rubish can come out of a senator. All sensible people knows that government have been subsidising kerosine price. His co PDP have been benefiting from this by using this means to steal our common wealth. Even with all d billions spent on subsidy Nigerians dont get Kerosine at N50 per litre. So the question is who is really benefiting from the subsidy? The current government seal their mouth by removing the subsidy and they are here crying. Theives!!!!
this buhari-led government is pulling us back and it's sad how those who cricized GEJ are now blinded by party and politics without wanting to see the negative side of this government. They are accusing the past government of ruin in the economy yet their tiny brains won't calculate the excesses being spent on 2016 budget unlike the previous government.
oga ben bruce, leave mathematics out of this issue of kerosine, when kerosine was approve to be sold #50 how many filling stations were selling it at that price. Now that, there is price regulation all over the Nation you want to bring issue out of it.Nigeria must work again oo

Bruce, Its unfortunate to say that this "CHANGE" is a fraud, non of the campaign promises were kept: a promise to make $1 = N1, today Dollars is N300 + In one or two weeks Boko Haram will be a thing of the past, this is 8 months now and 15 people including a DPO was killed today. Unemployment will be a thing of the past today many companies are folding and unemployment has increased. eating 3 square is for the rich, Buhari goes outside the country to market corruption instead of Nigeria. there is need to turn around else the outcome will not be too good.
In Nigeria, all the laws of Economics do not seem to apply. We all remember when one of our former Heads of State was making mockery of those who were predicting that the ECONOMY of Nigeria was on the verge of collapse, some years ago, just because by The Sheer Grace Of The Almighty God, the ECONOMY just did not collapse.
Maybe afterall the senator has no common sense. This is a simple law of production. We were selling crude oil for $130, which implied we made enough profit to offset the cost of production for kerosene or importation of kerosene as the case may be. Now crude oil is at an all-time low, meaning we are hardly making any product or even a loss in terms of production. The gains from crude oil can't be injected into kerosene production anymore, therefore the spike in the recent price for kerosene. Whether the cost of crude oil is increased or decreased, that doesn't affect the cost of production. Kerosene will still be produced at the same price. #NoCommonSenseAfterAll

As there is a dip in crude oil price, it makes sense that the price of Kerosene should increase as oil price is not as lucrative as it was...Besides, at #50/ltr the common man didn't buy at that price rather it was sold at about #120 for a 7up bottle...Make your critic more common sensical Mr. Common Sense and also you seem to have a lot of time tweeting #JustSaying

You sure say this man dey Nigeria at all? When did Nigerians ever buy kerosene for. 50naira? Does he even know what kerosene is? Has he ever bought it before?

But since am not using kerosene even when am home, I DON'T GIVE A SHIIT ABOUT ITS PRICE

Oga get small sense now! Didn't you see that the subsidy was removed? If the subsidy was removed like 2 years ago kerosene will be around 150. #commonsensenotcommonafterall
simple mathematics, price of crude is inversely proportional to price of kerosene. meaning as price of crude increases price of kerosene drops and vice versal. same principle with dollar, as dollar drops naira increases vice versal.
Rich politicians and media folks speak out about the plight of the poor only when it benefit their image or career. They never lift a finger to actually show the poor how to fish for their future. They just run their mouth.
Before Murray-Bruce can query the common sense in it, he should try to find out how much kerosine would have cost if there was no subsidy. What I mean is this, if it would have cost maybe 147 naira/litre when crude oil price was 130dollars/ barrel, and the govt subsidized it to 50 naira,,,, then, maybe the 83 naira now seems more to the point. He can then argue on the basis of it not being 50naira just because crude oil price has fallen so low, and not because it was once subsidized for 50 naira.
Buhari want take my change, now he wants more N38. This man is wicked! And his bunch of epic liars. No worry, breeze go blow, and those fake democratic credentials would be exposed. God bless Nigeria.

bruce u dont seems to surprise me by anyway.when kero was sold at N50 ,its been subsidised.now that its N83 .Govt had removed d subsidy.common sense, senator.u beta face ur beauty pagent
Common Sense is really not common. Some cant think for themselves. Ben Bruce is a Senator, why cant he raise a motion or bill on the floor of the senate for the whole country to debate it officially? Seriously now, when crude was $130 did Nigerians ever bought kerosine at #50? No, it was all on paper by some gas stations with long queues. Meanwhile, kerosine is said to be heavily subsidised. This was what led to the probe of the down stream sector by House of Rep headed by Farouk Lawan. The after result was Farouk/Otedola scandal. Now govt has removed subsidy, so marketers and dealers can sell at market driven price. He is opening his mouth on social media instead of the National Assembly. Ben Bruce is looking for Cheap popularity. Common Sense is not truly common for some
Am yet to understand the meaning of this word change,is the change for the better or worst, cos I can't spot any different between the past and the present administration, how long can we continue folding our hands waiting for this positive change they were preaching about to come.Cos i know that the heart of man is deceitful nobody knows what is in there,Whatever change it is,you people shouldn't neglect the the low income group cos they're the one suffering it. Even God himself Wil turn his back on you people and carry out his judgment cos he's not a respecter of anyone. You better take note.

Mr. Common sense with no common sense. Where and when was kerosene ever sold for N50.00? Stop this nonsense of misleading people. wasn't that part of the subsidy scan your party used to enrich your cohorts? I begi...

Sir Ben...this na de surest question for this january ooo
Its so clear to Ben bruce that some of you are ignorant & he'll rather discuss matters such as this on social network and not at the senate

please where is the money for the 2 years ago @mr common sense that's not common
Oga get small sense now!
Didn't you see that the subsidy was removed? If the subsidy was removed like 2 years ago kerosene will be around 150. #commonsensenotcommonafterall
federal government answer ooo,,explain the calculation used.,the poor man keeps suffering while the rich man"s belly keeps getting bigger.
simple mathematics, price of crude is inversely proportional to price of kerosene. meaning as price of crude increases price of kerosene drops and vice versal. same principle with dollar, as dollar drops naira increases vice versal.
Rich politicians and media folks speak out about the plight of the poor only when it benefit their image or career.
They never lift a finger to actually show the poor how to fish for their future.
They just run their mouth.
Well, i see sense in what he is saying tho.. common sense no common o
They don't use kerosene do it won't affect them if the price is increased... bad government
Kerosene was being subsidized at #50, now that d subsidy has been taken out it is simple common sense to know that d price will increase.
Murray Bruce are u not part of Federal government? You always attack them as if you are not a Senator or part of them.
Buhari want take my change, now he wants more N38. This man is wicked! And his bunch of epic liars. No worry, breeze go blow, and those fake democratic credentials would be exposed. God bless Nigeria.
Senator, cost of refining and where it is refined from.plus cost of crude. Do your Mathematics, which refinary is working in nigeria to refine the kerosine....#commonsense
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT BRODA.
He lacks it. Is Kerosine issue more important than the loot of the treasury by the previous government.Did he not benefit indirectly from the PDP loot of the national treasury that is being recovered now via his political campaign.

Exactly
bruce u dont seems to surprise me by anyway.when kero was sold at N50 ,its been subsidised.now that its N83 .Govt had removed d subsidy.common sense, senator.u beta face ur beauty pagent
Common Sense is not truly common for some
Right
Am yet to understand the meaning of this word change,is the change for the better or worst, cos I can't spot any different between the past and the present administration, how long can we continue folding our hands waiting for this positive change they were preaching about to come.Cos i know that the heart of man is deceitful nobody knows what is in there,Whatever change it is,you people shouldn't neglect the the low income group cos they're the one suffering it. Even God himself Wil turn his back on you people and carry out his judgment cos he's not a respecter of anyone. You better take note.
It's even #110 i my area
