According to reports, the youths accused the Emir and the Chief Judge of conniving with the immediate past Governor of the state to plunder the resources meant for the development of the state. The youths also demanded for the Emir's immediate dethronement. The occasion had to be brought to a close as the youths continued to stone some other dignitaries with water sachets and stones.(above is a pic of the Emir being protected by his palace guards when the chaos started)

Allegedly, when the ElRufai Campaign sought to pay a courtesy call on the Emir of Zazzau (Zaria), the Emir declined and sent a message that, 'Fada na da dan takara', which means, 'the Palace already has a candidate', inferring that former Governor, Ramalan Yero, was the chosen one. Oh how the tides have changed, oh how the mighty have fallen....

I am from Kaduna state, I can tell you for a fact that the zazzau emirate has been at the centre of under development and backwardness in Kaduna state. Every governor of Kaduna state has to pay homage to the emirate through contracts, employment slots, allocation of institutions etc or they will make life difficult for him.
Just take a country of the higher institutions in Kaduna state, all located in Zaria to the detriment of the rest of the state.
They employ diabolical means to achieve this.
