Dencia was featured on Channel 4 News yesterday where she fiercely defended her skincare product, Whitenicious. The interviewer tried to go in but Dencia stood her ground. She also reacted to Lupita's comments about her product. Continue to watch the video..

Honestly, after listening to Dencia speak, I'm loving her by the minute. Like she said..it's a matter of choice.she gave her reason for the name which is pure. A lot of ladies that have suffered from acne with spots that wouldn't go, would be grateful to her for this product,cos they feel stigmatized with the spots and not considered beautiful. If ladies want to buy it for their whole body,good luck to them. Speaking of role models, check out old photos of Oprah, Nicki Minaj, Riri,Janet Jackson, and so on. They were all dark. Unfortunately Dencia is missing the point. the name "Whitenicious" conjures thoughts of deliciousness and ties it to White. Since we are talking skin, many would subconsciously connect to skin color. Also, the Whiter pictures of her is both overtly and subconsciously conveying the message that whiter is successful and an outcome of the product. Why could she not come up with a name that speaks to spot removal? Also, her argument about white and purity made me cringe. Perhaps she has never had the luxury to go deep in thought and ask who associated the color white with purity and what was their thinking. Does that mean black is unpure? Perhaps that is what she is saying because scars on black women tend to look black or brown. She is clearly out of her intellectual depth in this interview. Her position on reading comprehension shows low comprehension of scientifically proven methods used in the advertising industry to influence positions. Hmmm. Finally, the whole fake blond hair and drag queen getup is just unfortunate. Was she hiding her eyes? What about the accent? Where did it come from? The accent is just unfortunate. I could not tell if it had Efik in it. It was a bit fake brit and at one point wanted to be American.
