What is happy about the democracy? When the country is more fucked up than it has ever been?? I can't stand Nigeria at the moment! There is nothing worthy of celebration in this messed up country!

A stark reminder of broken dreams and shattered hopes; tears for a people who no longer recognise the concept of the 'common good' most African societies thrived on. We can only recover if we retrace our paths and enthrone social justice...

This man just named UNILAG Moshood Abiola University. Even though we love and adore MKO. This doesn't sound right to me at all. Maybe University of Abuja could have been better.

Having a woman wear our national flag has absolutely nothing to do with democracy, except to give ideas to our men folk. Democracy is in the heart of service to one's people and government. We may pretend that we are at last a democratic nation, but until we have a government that truly is about the Nigerian people then there is no need for "happy democracy day".

Since Ï„̲̅Ñ’e present era of democracy in nigeria, one is forced Ï„☺ ask hw far ve we faired as a country, with a population of over 160million ‎Ãήϑ a country so rich in crude oil. ‎A̶̲̥̅♏ sure, most pple will agree with M̶̲̅ε̲̣ that our leaders have failed us ‎Ãήϑ Ï„̲̅Ñ’e generation yet unborn. Nigeria has lost its value as Ï„̲̅Ñ’e acclaimed giant of africa Ï„☺ terrorism, hike in fuel pump price, strike by civil servants, continuous increase in food commodities, power failure, looting of public funds by governors ‎Ãήϑ other public servants, etc. Today, is a day 4 concerned nigerians Ï„☺ ask, "which way Nigeria". Rest in peace M K O Abiola, Sunny Okosun, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Gani Fawehnmi Chuma Ubani etc. Y☺u all are true Legends of Ï„̲̅Ñ’e third coming of Democracy in Nigeria. -Kay

Thanks Linda its really a celebration worth appreciating and celebrating, it's the people that i will call the "winning" team which i believe am one that celebrates the success in this Country, when you make it big in your Life in Nigeria you will never wanna say Nigeria is a bad country and really as terrible s thing seems to be at times in Nigeria some people are still doing fine and people like me are still making good Money in Nigeria then i believe Nigeria is really a great place to be indeed.
