Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari was so shocked by UNICEF reports that a staggering 2.5 Nigerian children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition that she recently launched an initiative to fight child malnutrition in Nigeria.
Mrs. Buhari’s ‘Get Involved’ initiative is looking for the support of ordinary Nigerians and will also be working with the private sector, development partners, non-governmental organisations and UNICEF to help end child malnurition in the country.

When the country is classified as poor by UNICEF, we will be angry. Northern leaders should start viewing their subjects as humans with blood flowing their veins and remember that no child chose where s/he would be born. They and their children have been so blinded by wealth that they cant even be their neighbours keeper.
Foreign university degrees that they don't put to judicious use, just to fill a role. God will not do for human what we need to do by ourselves but at least, lets pinch ourselves each day and remember that some people live daily in pains and there only offence, (they are Nigerians).
At the end, to dust we will all return. I like muslim way of burying the dead. Before 24hours and with nothing. Does this not preach to all looters and wicked people causing untold hardship on fellow humans, especially children? I pray for the day when no Nigerian child, irrespective of region, dies as a result of starvation or sickness.
Each and all of us need to start thinking of how to alleviate child poverty in Nigeria.
