32m Nigerians yet to do their BVN registration one month to deadline

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that 32 million active bank accounts have yet to be enrolled on the Biometric Verification Number (BVN) by September. This was made known by CBN's Director, Corporate Communications Muzau Ibrahim in a statement released today September 25th. The deadline for the exercise was extended to October 31 after many Nigerians failed to do their registration on June 30.

I don't know we are forced to do BVN. A year later, we'll be asked to do another registration. I went to the Atlanta centre to do mine on September 14th, was told at the centre they didn't know what I was talking about after driving 3hours to get there. CBN should allow those of us to take our time and come home to do it. The BVN is to help secure our account and not to make money for some resource company. Charging us £35 in the US is outrageous. Nigeria will never change. You want to notorized a document in Nigeria, you pay at least 3k, here in the US it's free. You just go to any certified notorizer, and he or she will motorize your docs for free. Pay pay for everything na him go kill us. Something wey go do free, we want to be paid for it. God forbid.

and soon banks will become choked up because some people are too stupid to be wise.

Most of which are not in the country.

Think of it....students in various countries doing their masters or stuff.

With no concrete way to get the bvn done from this side.

Its lack of wisdom that is worrying all ds cbn people.

They can easily get copies of our data pages.

Afterall to get passport, we had to do biometrics.

Life can be easier, if people can think.

That being said, I am one of the 32million people, and I live in Canada.
