People pls think. everybody is like pray for Nigeria. but faith without action is like a body without spirit...Nigeria has enough prayer what we need is action.. this was not a natural disaster.. this is man made.. a result of our incompetency as a country.. we need to find out who is at fault...punish them severely.. so that in the future people will think twice before making life altering mistakes our of greed or just incompetence

When the new minister was appointed i know she was a waiting time bomb in the aviation industry. Nigerian government keep appointing minister office base on family names, and political class if even they are not qualified, the jobs still awaits them, it is high time government should look beyond family names and political class in appointing ministerial positions. if this continue, more deadly result will always be achieved. putting a square peg in a round hole. this can not work.

I am so afraid to visit Nigeria this december..Been out of the country for more than 2 yrs now. This news broke my heart...How can i ever come back and feel safe? All the news I read about is filled with Armed robberies on the highway, rape of innocent young girls and women, bank been blasted, accidents on the highway due to bad roads which i though has improved and then Boko Haram which is supported by the northern elites.

I know I am changing my nationality for sure and moving every member of my family out of there for it scares me that my family is still there where we are suppose to enjoy our Motherland.A govt that is bent on eating and enriching itself while basic amenities are not provided for the citizens.Jonathan how would you feel if you lost your kids in this flight?will you now listen to your conscience?and realize that nothing is working and no improvement.God wil judge you and your cohorts.

I will not rule out completely the involvement of Boko Haram in this crash

Please don't be silly, a day or two? That's what's killing you nigerians....delay of vital information. The next thing is the family would be asked for bribe to know if their family was on the flight. Rubbish. I think someone like Linda should be the next Information minister, as she will get the job done unbiased whoever I would fear for her safety as nigerians are too corrupt. Please don't talk like an illiterate abeg. Now Dana airlines have to be made accountable for this... too saddddd

Anonymous said...

What rubbish investigation are you talking about? What is the big deal in realing out the names of those who boarded a flight? Do you think it is right for the families to wait for days or beg the government to check for if their people were on board? Linda thank you for your hard work. You are so on point apart from your love for goody two shoes genevive. I really hope you are nothing like her mate!. May their souls rest in peace

Wat a pity 4 9ja,anyway,may their gentle souls rest in perffect peace.

Anonymous said...

Who are these people saying Linda should have waited....you don't get it do you? Nothing would have been sent to inform the families, the post does not work and there's no light to even charge phones. Wake up.delaying information was what caused the crash in the first place. No one would have got on that flight if information was passed that the plane was faulty....haaaa nigerians

Anonymous said...

Thanks for this updated list Linda. I've been seeking the comprehensive list to confirm that my sister wasn't on the flight.....but she was.

Anonymous said...

I am sorry anonymous bit that is what will kill most nigerians, why should any body withhold information like the manifesto? Should they ne bribed before family members can know their relatives were on board?

I am just angry at everything right now. I knew One person on this flight and I indirectly know some others. It is sad that this has happened before and there is no guarantee that it will not happen again. The previous crashes that occurred, wasn't it common knowledge that the planes were bad? I am angry that we have a corrupt nation . I am angry that lives have no value in Nigeria. I am angry that Goodluck thinks a 3 day mourning period will solve any problem. I am angry that we are so religious in Nigeria that even if we know the plane is very bad, we would rather just pray and hope for the best of the 50minutes flight and still go ahead to board- yes , we get used to things in Nigeria. God answers prayers but God does not want us to be silly too...I am just angry...that so many people are grieving and hurting so bad right now and all these could have been avoided. I am really angry at all the evils happening in Nigeria.

My heart goes to the families that woke up on Sunday morning with great expectation for the new week but the tragedy of the plane crash took them out of this world.
Let us think about it again and again. This is not the first time such disaster will happen in this country and we are yet to even have any report on the previous ones or any recommendation to prevent subsequent ones.
It’s sad that in Nigeria, things happen and we just forget about them like that without making adequate effort to prevent subsequent occurrences. Elsewhere across the Globe, investigations are carried out and made known to the general public but Nigeria is a different and sad case. What happen to Sosoliso, Bellview plane crashes and the host of others?
We only see all the occurrences without effort on how to prevent them from happening again. Honestly, it is sad and our only hope can only be a responsible government that does beyond a shadow investigation.
May God help the helpless and the entire nation.

Nigerians what we need is survival of the believers and with one voice God will raise his hands against the evil ones and rid this country from CHAOS ,ANARCHY AND DOOM! let us set our priorities straight! Its really painfully how our government and leaders value our lives, corruption has really eaten deep into our society. This crash is something that would have been averted but for greed, families have lost their bread winner, loved ones, spouses at what price??? Lets stop blaming the Indians and instead blame the authorities for looking the other way when their palms are greased and not stick to acceptable standard. This has to end my people and it should start with you and me, lets secure our future and does of our loved.. Enough of the talk and lets puts our words into action....RIP FARIDA and all others on that flight

Is anything going to change no. What qualifies stella Oduah as an aviation minister? She was an ordinary citizen who was working in nnpc and when a former no 2 man wanted a front for his oil stealing he started dating her and she walked out of her marriage. The rest they say is history. Now got married again left that one for politics. She did door to door campaign for GEJ and she became a minister of the most important dept in nigeria. What qualified her to become the aviation minister.Good luck before we have any more chaos please call great men and women who know this thing to come and help out.I know some will do it for the nation. Was this aircraft air worthy? who knows there is so much bribe going on anybody can certify any aircraft.I beg GEJ

ONE Said: To think that this could have been avoided makes it more devasting. I'm still finding it difficult to come to terms with the reality of this plane crash. It is truly heart wrenching. I've cried so hard coz this brought back painful memories. When i heard about this terrible incident, i was at a friend's and i was telling her that i hope i do not know any of the passengers aboard that plane but on getting home, my aunty hit me with the news that Ini Asquo(who happens to be the only biological child of her parents) was also involved. I know what it feels like to loose a loved one but its nothing compared to loosing an only child or both parents. BTW a girl who used to work with my company also lost her Dad(John Ahmadu)in that ill-fated aircraft. Nothing prepares you for this kind of loss. May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.

THey say do not question God so we question the industry, what does the Minister of Aviation knw? She ran an oil company and worked in NNPC what profile is that related to Aviation? Corruption is killing this country, ghana must go exchanged for flights to be certified....Nigerian GOvt is quite careless and the time has come to pray, we need to seek GOd's face we are no longer safe, cant be business as usual...

I was on this same Dana plane on the 23rd of may 2012. It was delayed from take off from MMA2, I saw the Philippine mechanics with buckets draining out hydraulic fluid under the left side under carriage tyre mechanism, a part was taken out but not replaced, yet we were told to board. I told the flight supervisor my name that am an aerospace systems engineer and am concerned at the operational state of the plane, the guy told me to see the pilot, I did, he was a Caribbean decent capt & new zealand asian looking co-pilot, he confirmed work was done and asked how I knew, I said I saw it from the windows of the airport and the part was not replaced that I also saw the mechanics Philippine & indian guys under the plane, he told me don't worry if its not ok we won't fly. I pinged my family and friends of what I saw and the names of the people I spoke to. Should anything happen as well as asking that the plane is taken off but am just a simple powerless passenger. We landed and the pilot waited at d door to shake me as to say I told u. Sadly this plane wasn't taken off service to sort out the hydraulic leak or landing gear problem because it was still making money for indians in Dana, now this Dana plane has killed my friend Ehime, levy & ijeamaka & 150 others. All because they refused a simple precaution advice over their financial wants. My story can be checked from dana Airline/MMA2 logs. May God burn you all in Dana. SUBMITTED BY Ben Nnaji

I think some people should be held really responsible for this crash, and we should start with the DG Demuren, I am very sure he may have lost count of victims of plane crashes that his administration has witnessed. If it were to be in other countries, heads will roll.

Question is, are there not supposed to be regulators on ground who certify the fitness of a plane before it takes off? Or do they just move and come in on their own?

May the souls of the victims R.I.P and may there be comfort from the Lord God Almighty unto every member of their family IJN. Amen.
To the person that open his/her mouth to say Nigeria is cursed, if Nigeria is cursed, then that fellow is also a cursed person for been a citizen of a cursed nation. That fellow of a truth belong to Satan, & we won't agree with him/her. Hear this, Jesus Christ has redeemed HIS own from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). Evil is bound to happen but we need to live for God alone, trust HIM completely and continue to cry out for HIS mercy over our land. Jesus Christ is coming sooner that we think, are u prepared for HIM? The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and they are saved(Proverbs 18:10). He that dwell in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty(Psalms 91:1) Shalom!!!

The management of DANA airline must be thoroughly dealt with.
Nigerians, are we going to allow the Indians, Chinese, Lebanese and Koreans to finish us in our own land? They use us anyhow right here in our land and our government is posing not to be concerned bcos none of their children is a victim. Wait and see.
Truly, God is merciful, wanting everyone to repent but if He starts His judgement, none of the wicked/evil ones will escape.
Let all our rulers that claim to be leaders hear this, God is not sleeping and in due time they/their children will see that God is so concerned about HIS people(Nigerians). Shalom!!!

May God grant us the serenity to accept things we cant change and grant us grace to change the things we can. May the souls of the departed find eternal peace.

Am not one to point fingers or insult people for putting their point across
but its appropriate to withhold certain information and relay them properly.Families are meant to properly be informed about the passing of loved ones.I do agree names can be put up,but not before families have been formally told.I am Nigerian living abroad and when tragic things happens and lives are lost, the families are privately informed, this gives them a chance to be supported by people or other family members..not everybody can handle a phone call carrying bad news.I remember when I lost both my grand parents, while me and my mum were abroad my dad called me first to break the news in very calm and gentle way and insisted I get my mum's friend to be around my mum before he breaks the tragic news to my mum..I am sure I don't have to explain why he did that,as its self obvious..Information can do a lot of damage just as it can bring closure but all said it needs to be done and handled appropriately.I wouldn't want to find out from reading a blog that I have lost someone I know...we need to love ourselves more and keep praying..May the Love and protection of God not depart from us All.
