I am not in support of DKB slapping Zainab. He should have walked away or ignored her. But I do not agree with the way Zainab challenged and aggravated the matter. Granted, he threatened to slap her, then he started to walk away, but she came to his face and was calling him names... As far as I could see and hear in the video, she slapped him first (or tried to slap him) (he repeatedly says, "you tried to slap me" in the video), and then he slapped her back.
Men have huge egos, and from experience (mine and those around me), a man will not forgive you for bruising his ego (in this case, DKB couldn't probably forgive that he was being "insulted" on national TV. Also, a huge proportion of domestic violence is provoked by the woman. I have a friend who is in a violent relationship with her husband, but the violence did not start till she hit him in the face with a pot, while they were dating. Some men are very violent, and would abuse a woman even without provocation.
