Members of the church of condemned man of God, Rev King, compare him to christ

Rev King
Pastor Reverend Chukwuemeka Ezeuko aka Reverend King was arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to death by hanging in January 2007 for the death of one of his church members, a young girl named Ann, who he set ablaze by pouring fuel on her along with 6 other church members after accusing them of committing fornication in his church. Ann died in hospital from injuries she sustained from the burn. Rev King has been in prison since then, awaiting his death sentence.

Despite his incarceration, his church, Christian Praying Assembly, is still running. It was his birthday a few weeks ago and members of his church bought several ad spaces in one of the prominent newspapers in Nigeria where they showered him with praises. In one of the ad, he was compared to Jesus Christ, calling him The Father, His Holiness etc.

Quite a number of people were angry that the newspaper ran the ad, not only because of the comparison, but because he was also a condemned man.

When i saw the advert i was amazed and wondered how a Newspaper can collect money to put that kind of advert on their dailies but after a deep thought i felt it's a free world and everyone is entitle to his or her opinion and freedom of speech should not be infringe on but nonetheless who are those people liking this evil man with Jesus? Am not judging him anyway but i don't see him portray any Christian life throughout his lifetime. All d same let's leave all to d Most High to judge.

Where in the bible does it state that Jesus Christ killed people because they sinned?! I'm tired of people committing crimes in the name of religion! The whole congregation need to have their head examined...they're potential murderers if they support his actions. SMH

I am not surprised...throw Jesus or God into any dialogue and watch the blind followers come in flocks...it's sad.

What do you expect from gullible Nigerians who worship their religious leaders rather than God and Christ Jesus himself?

Ndi ala! The problem with Nigeria will never be solved if the people of Nigeria do not change. How can they be comparing him to Jesus Christ? Is it written in the bible that Jesus burnt somebody to death? Thats how if not for his incarceration, he might be one of the so called pastors buying private jets and building private universities. Meanwhile umu mmadu are dying. Barbaric rubbish!! mschew!

Karl max said it aptly- religion is the opium of the people. I saw the adverts and was shocked to realize that most of the people are supposed businessmen. So it's not like it was done by crass illiterates. The comical part for me though is that they all have adopted "king" as their last names.

Christ was condemned too... But that's just me joking

Nigerians and Religion
I believe in God but I am very careful about churches especially the ones where they worship DA BISHOP and not God....we know other examples no need to mention names...

This guy is a big joke.Since he said he was ready to die like Jesus Christ, why did he appeal the death sentence? I am suprised that this killer is still worth a mention not to talk of followers.

this guy is my cousin, and we share the same surname.what i would say is people rejoice when a man of God is wrongly persecuted.remember the time of christ,if u are a christian, exactly what happened to Him is playing out.im not a member of his church but i cant imagine him committing such a heineous crime cos he had a humble beggining with a very rich father and a very prayerful family.

@ Christopher or whatever you call yourself, did Jesus serve out brutality to the sinners? No! What this so called pastor had done is not of christianity, he judged the vulnerable that came to him and served out punishment...that is of satan! Pastors that preach causing and spreading confusion, divisions, distress and fear mongering are false pastors! You will know them from the fruits of their work and so far this so called reverend's one is destruction.

The case for which Rev. King was sentenced to death was a sheer frame up. If the trials were not an arrangie-trial, tell me how the contradicting accounts of the incident by prosecution witnesses would have passed undisturbed through both the Appeal and Supreme Courts. The deceased; Ann Uzuh was NOT a maid to Rev. King as was widely reported. First, Ann and her father-unil the fire incident that took her life, were members of Rev. King’s church who had no words to thank Rev. King for what he was doing in their lives and their family. Ann Uzuh was one of the thousands who were studying under Rev. Kings scholarship. An announcement was made by the church at a certain time publicizing a job opportunity for men and women who are interested in working at the church quarters where King lived. Scores of members of the church applied including Ann and luckily, she succeeded as one of those who were employed. These employees of the church lived at a section quite different from where Rev. King lived. They lived at the boys quarters while king lived ALONE at the main building.

On that fateful Saturday evening, 25th Day of July, 2006, King returned home from work and there was no light in the neighborhood due to power outage from the then NEPA. He immediately alighted from his car and moved up the stairs waiting for the workers to put on the generating set so he can move into his room. He had barely undressed before there came a loud cry and shout down stairs and he quickly rushed down the stairs again to find out what was going on only to see Ann covered in flames. At this time, her co-workers were all standing a distance away from her just watching without doing anything to help her. Rev. King himself rushed towards Ann, dared the fire on her, stretched his hand and caught Ann by her clothes, dragged her down on a tap right on the wall beside him and turned on the tap which helped put of the fire. At this time, Ann had already stopped breathing.

King instantly revived her, poured oil on her burnt before asking Ann’s co-workers what happened to her. Surprisingly, no one uttered a word. Rev. King drove out his car, carried Ann by himself into his car, and drove her to Faith City Hospital in Ajao Estate, Lagos, asked the hospital to take care of her and also got a member of the church to take care of her while she takes treatment. Rev. King that night, also instructed that a formal report be made to the Police before he left for home. When he got home, surprisingly also, there was no one to open the gates for him, he opened the gates himself and drove into the house only to discover that the workers had all packed their belongings and left the church quarters.
