INEC blames corpers for faulty DDC Machines

I'm sure you all have heard that the newly acquired DDC machines is giving officials plenty wahala, rejecting finger prints etc...well INEC ain't blaming the machines, they are blaming the electoral officials...who are mostly corpers.

INEC's statement: “We assumed that these corps members should know how to operate a simple machine like the DDC machine in addition to the training they had but unfortunately, they disappointed us..These are graduates and we never expected it that any of them won’t be able to handle a computer but the reality was such that majority of them couldn’t and we had to shuffle them,”

Imagine...!

As much as I hate this blame game, INEC has raised a salient point, many university graduates in Nigeria are NOT computer literate.

but with the amount of money spent to acquire these DDC machines, there should have been adequate training given in ample time with several rehearsals to prove competence before the start of a voter registration exercise

This is the result of a failed educational system. The blame goes back to the govt.

Someone is about to make some huge money somewhere. Someone in INEC is indirectly telling the corpers that we are likely gonna withhold whatever remuneration that is due you for participation; and that cash will end up is some others persons bank account....if you guys cant decode this, then you guys are "olodos" that INEC is claiming that you are.

my honourable middle finger goes to INEC.
Who else to blame but the poor corpers; not the substandard machines, not to the firms awarded the contracts dubiously, not INEC for their lack of plans....but the corpers.

I am very disappointed at the way you people are associating this with failed system. Have you forgotten that even WAEC holders manage cyber cafes properly. So, why won't university graduates handle a simple DDC.

What is the big deal in handling a DDC anyway.

The problem is INEC and its greedy officials. INEC official enrolled their family and friends under the disguise of being youth coppers, so that they can be partakers of the remuneration that will come at the end of the exercise.

They forget that their illiterate relatives cannot assimilate or understand the knowledge of DDC usage. This is why the process is very slow in most centres.

Let us praise these corp members for their effort. Enough of all these castigation and trading of blames.

They are very SILLY for coming out to blame the graduates. Silly nonsense. They cannot take responsibility and the corpers have to be the scape goats.

Rubbish!

Ha! dem dey look for scape-goat to heap the blame!...ARE OUR LEADERS NOT TO BE BLAMED FOR THE POOR STATE OF OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM?...now they are complaining abi?... mschewwww!...billions of naira had been made by the contractor! I heard the DDC was supplied from CHINA by the contractor, after using the original version to 'test the waters'

I'm a corper, and I know the corpers weren't given enough training, these are people looking for fast cash, and I know for a fact that some of our graduates have never used a computer. I always heard of it as a rumour until I saw a graduate in camp who had never used a computer in her life.

Thank you INEC, you are just knowing that alot of computer science graduates never had the opportunity to touch a 1980 computer when they were in school, to talk more of a laptop. Please they should tell us something else jare

I registered today & was done within 20mins!...no DDC problem..the corpers were so efficient that i had to ask them why such comment was made about them..here was what the guy said;

THEY WERE TRAINED FOR ONLY 3DAYS!

ONLY PEOPLE THAT SCORED 80% ABOVE WERE SELECTED!

THEY WERE GIVEN 2K AGAINST THE 5K FOR MOBILIZATION FEE AFTER THE TRAINING!

THEY OUGHT TO BE 3 PERSONS IN EACH REGISTERING CENTER; ONE PERSON TO OPERATE THE DDC MACHINE, THE OTHER TO TAKE THUMB PRINTS & THE THIRD TO LAMINATE THE CARD! BUT IT'S ONLY 2 THAT WAS ASSIGNED TO EACH POST..SO WHATS HAPPENED TO THE 3RD PERSON?

You guess is as good as mine...GHOST WORKERS!..some people are making one hell of a money from this exercise! First the 3k balance...then the 3rd person MIA!

I observed that the corpers had to find tables & chairs for themselves to carry out the exercise...good 9jas willingly gave it to them, & when the battery ran down, they were kind enough to lend them generators! And it was 'ink stain' of 2003 that is used!
