Linda Ikeji's New Year message to every young Nigerian girl (please watch)

I shot this video a few days ago to share a message that is very close to my heart. I sincerely hope that my words make a difference in the life of at least one girl. We women are powerful beyond measure and stronger than we think. Please watch and share. And happy New Year once again!

Thank you for your message of empowerment, personally i don't think it's poverty I believe it's faulty mentality of how the girl girl is raised that it's only with a man that dreams can be fulllfilled or that when you date a man he has to meet all you needs and greed above all

Nice one Linda, thanks for sharing. My little girl has only been to Nigeria once and stayed just a few days, she saw me watching your video and gasp"oh is that Linda Ikeji?" That says a lot. You are a success, it's a good thing you talked about your house and your car, that didn't strike me like showing off, it just meant "we can do it too. Maybe lack of jobs is a key factor here because in most developed countries, jobs are everywhere and nobody sleeps with anybody for money. I mean the guys splits the bills. Hoping there will be more jobs out there for people. Much love.

When women say these kinds of things, then it reinforces misogyny and gender inequality. Women are only "powerful beyond measure" and "stronger than they think" when they leverage on their BODY and exploit the desperate randiness of some very stupid, libidinous men. In this sense, women are only as "powerful" as men allow them to be. If you're forming pretty posh and sexy and one useless man overprices you when all he wants is your tired body and perhaps specious 'companionship', that's not power. You're a prostitute selling body/feminine charms like the next girl. Only more fortunate, that's all...

If you're serious and want to make sense, say something like "people are more powerful and stronger than they think". Let your so-called inspirational words be gender-neutral and humanist, then we can take it seriously and take you and your success seriously. As long as you try to feminise your message and propagate this nonsensical mirage of 'girl power', those of us men who are wise and experienced would continue to see you as prostitutes. I can't tell you how many so-called Alhajas or 'big ladies' I know who hustle for contracts, business patronage, appointments, or job positions here and there by sucking big ogas' dicks in different offices and hotels, opening their flabby laps for all sorts of men, just to sustain their useless big-woman-ness, only to come out and try to "inspire" young girls to "work hard". Nigeria is a monstrous joke.

There are 'rich' prostitutes in Banana Island and there are regular prostitutes hustling in Ojuelegba. The difference is luck, circumstances and packaging. Your area code or the car you drive doesn't wash away your ignominy, neither does the beauty/quality of the gift wrap increase the value or quality of the gift inside. After all the drama and nonsense your clothes are ripped apart and the same dank and helplessly ordinary meat nestles underneath.

If you come out to lecture girls on how to be successful prostitutes, then that's perfectly fine. At least there will be no deception/hypocrisy.

@Anonymous 13:34 Na who help Linda? She struggled on her own and never gave up till she made it. Dont go and struggle. Be waiting for a Lady like you to help you. Stmcheew

Linda has given 2 million naira out to people on this blog that she doesnt even know. She did it last year. Linda has helped a lady that was carrying cement for survival. Linda gave her 500k to start up her own business. Linda donated for the medical bills of a lady that had cancer. Linda uses her blog to advertise and solicit for funds free of charge for sick people in need of money for surgery etc. Go and google all these facts and stop being lazy and petty. Linda can only help the few she can help and leave the rest for God. If linda decides to help everybody, how many can she possibly help? So you want her to help everbody and go broke before you will appreciate her? She also has need for her money. So you cant expect her to help the whole world. Receive some sense!

Must they blog???did u really listen to Dis video to hear how many times she failed and rose up again? Thes 998 can carve their own niche in other businesses. Nobody wants to learn and grow in handwork these days.handwork is viable soil, with or without a degree.gossip may be a flair for most women but its not s business calling for all.

Sandra said...

@Abiodun Oladejo If she doesnt talk about how rich or successful she is now after the struggle, how will you appreciate her testimony? If she only talked about how she suffered, how will you get inspired without making mention of her success too? Receive sense pls

Emeka said...

@kelechi Okafor Why do Nigerians like to copy. Why is everybody now copying MMM? Where were you before MMM started? Stmcheew

Stan said...

You have bad belle mentality. Remember that a testimony is not complete without talking about the success part of the story which obviously is Linda's wealth. If she only talked about how she suffered without talking about her wealth, the testimony will be incomplete. The bible says; "They overcame the devil by the words of their testimony. So stop the hate, get inspired and get over yourself

So many comments on this, however this would not stop me from sending in my comment. Linda this is cool stuff i must say, the easiest way to convince others is by your own personal story/testimony.

Seeing the traffic your blog commands even in the corporate sector, I had once spoke to my colleague (who is also a senior BD person in one of the fasted ecommerce firms in Africa) about talking to you about starting a school or a paid for program on digital media, even projecting a course in LBS for this, I believe in you Linda and I know many need things like this to kick start their careers.

I would be open if need be for more on what i have mentioned, my email- princeaustin55@gmail.com.

Happy New Year Linda

Linda ikeji you are passing a good message in a wrong way, which is sort of fraudulent. What issues do you have with men. What works for you might not be same for another woman. Please don't use your blog to disillusion young ladies. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong in working hard and making a decent living but please don't castigate men for wanting sex. They are made that way. Women should be able to decide what to do with their bodies and lives, that's what is called choice. And financial success doesn't guarantee 100% happiness. I don't have to stay in banana island to be happy.

I cried for the most part of 31st December 2016. I'd just started my small business- I extract coconut and tigernut(aya) oils for sale. My last batch did turn out well. I cried. I cried. "Way to end 2016" I told myself. I was depressed. For a budding business I'd just had a 5000 naira loss. It hurt. God pulled me through it. At least the coconut oil wasn't so bad. Then I tried to cheer up, told myself no more of this. I'm a final yr student in school let me just concentrate on that-making good grades. Only for me to come online, search lindaikejiblog.com for my daily upliftment (trust me your content works) to see this video. THANK YOU. I'm not giving up now! I'll take another of my hard earned 5k, make my oil again. This time, I will get it right. Linda Ikeji says "get up" though most people would tell me not to. I've got to do this. For me. Thank you.

@cynthia may the good lord have mercy upon your soul. The bible says fornication and adultery are sins. Be warned!

Banana Island makes Linda happy. What makes you happy must not be what makes her happy. This is why both of you are two different people. God did not create men to like sex with different people. He created sex for only you and your wife. He also gave you the power to control yourself and sexual urge. So keep your silly dick in one place.

Anonymous said...

Why are you abusing her? Abi you like ashawo work?

Anonymous said...

Even if women have been doing it, is that why she shouldnt advise them that it is bad?

I have never commented on here before but I feel this is necessary. God Bless you Linda for this message. I have my dreams and ambitions, I hope to look back at the age of 40 and testify that this video pushed me further in the direction I desire to go.

Great message. Valuable for both genders. Uplifting, inspiring. Well done. Thank you.

Finally decided to watch this video and I couldn't control tears dripping down from my eyes.
It was like the message was directed to me.
I have never felt so motivated and empowered in my whole life. Thank you Linda.

Unknown said...

Linda you are on point. I appreciate the point you laboured to make But come to think of it,you laboured more in advertising than the message itself. However, Linda always know that the nation is looking up to you to see you say I do,I do. What shall it profit you if after being famous, you don't have an apparent heir to your thrown? Linda remember that even nature abhors cacum.

I feel very sad for you that in this 21st century you are a young person who is tribalist and speaking like an ignorant person. So in your left brain you think it's only yoruba girls that sleep around. So sorry for u. Anyway tribalism is a choice and I choose never ever to be tribalistic. I believe in one Nigeria

Unknown said...

Great video Linda I am inspired. Believe this is a great year for me. Wish u the best this year. May you break more and new grounds. I really love you for letting girls know that sleeping around is just not cool at all.
