Aisha Yesufu took to her twitter handle to react to Pres. Buhari's comment that he almost absconded when he assumed office in May 2015 and met an empty treasury. President Buhari said this to visiting Northern Christian Association of Nigeria leaders at the state house yetserday.
As a BBOG Co-convener, I'm sure if he had, you wouldn't have cause to celebrate the return of these few chibok girls, the very struggle your campaign centers on. Buhari may not be a sweetheart right now, but for someone who is championing the BBOG campaign, I think he's done pretty better than his predecessor in that regards. Before Buhari was sworn-in, both political parties; APC and PDP made a very public display of the handing over process. They even constituted a joint handover committee with membership from both parties. Eventually handover documents were presented to Buhari in a ceremony covered by the press. Good sense would have dictated that the moment Buhari found an empty treasury he should have let Nigerians know that what he met on ground differs from what was in the handover notes. Now he is telling us he met empty treasury, he is on his own. He never carried Nigerians along.
All these guys shouting Buhari met 30bn dollars! How much did Jonathan inherit from Oj/ Yar'Adua. The ineffectual buffoon inherited 47billiin dollars and made 51trillion naira in 5 years. Not only did the buffoon not save anything, he depleted the savings, took us back into debt without building one infrastructure, not even in Otuoke! The 30 billion he left in the foreign reserve was what he remained from the savings he inherited, and that could no longer sustain our forex demands. I empathise with Buhari
