This is allegedly the Doctors Quarters at FMC, Yenagoa (photos)

A LIB reader sent these photos in, claims this is where house officers stay in FMC Yenagoa, Bayelsa.
"It's a sorry sight. Please help post this so that something can be done for the other doctors who will come in future. The buildings will soon collapse. I didn't get a chance to snap the bathroom and toilets. Some people actually still use pit toilets. "
I find this hard to believe but continue to see more photos...

Come to think that the ex president is from there. Even after claiming of being marginalized for long, you now had your opportunity and then squandered it. There is something fundamentally wrong with Africans, especially the ones that live right where you have the most valuable resources.

Linda please go take pictures of all Patience Jonathan's properties in Abuja and PH and put them right beside these ones.

Some tribes just can't help it because they simply don't have it. Like how can you give what you don't have. Some DNAs will always remain primitive and incapable of doing anything cerebral. That's how I see Bayelsans.

Very funny at those who say that we should blame the Governor. This is FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE YENOGOA not State General Hospital Yenogoa.
So if Jonah was President for 5yrs and couldn't repair the only Federal hospital in his own state na Buhari go repair am?

The person that sent in those pics was unfair. Inasmuch as those pics do represent the quarters in FMC Yenagoa, the sender should also have depicted the 3 Storey quarters nearing completion where the staff will be relocated while this set of buildings is renovated appropriately for human habitation

Unknown said...

I believe d idea of u own where u live until u leave,so if u believe in making a place a home awhile why not do something about it instead of waiting for the government to come fix it cos newsflash, they won't be coming anytime so. So fix it urself and stop complaining. Stop waiting for government to do everything

Anonymous said...

Of course you will "find this hard to believe" but you don't want the people who stole our commonwealth and most likely the money for the upkeep and renovation of these buildings probed....what a confused bunch of people....mtchew

Am in bayelsa as I write. This flat with the decoders are been occupied by igbo, yoruba and hausa doctors. They are the highest paid in civil service. Can't they paint their houses. Forget about the governor. What will I gain am not an ijaw person. Or rather buhari should continue from what is been posted here.

The person isn't lying... I lived there before we moved. I stayed in the flat by the left, upstairs... That's the way it's been since....

Funny part is that the Hospital itself is really cute oh

Anonymous said...

When we lived in that particular building, we took care of the building ourselves. We contributed 1ce in every two years to repaint the buildingand take care of thebuilding. We all know how Nigeria works so if the 6 well paid doctors currently occupying that flat are comfortable sleeping in their apartments with the surroundings like this... then, they don't know whtas wrong withthem. Even in Jand where every thingworks, the citizens own up to their little responsibility... Mtcheeeew!!!

You should see the one UCH residents stay in...this is a lot better. They still use pit latrine in UCH!

What a shame, things have to deteriorate to this level before we do something about it..

Just another example of how clueless GEJ was about governance. This is a federal institution. Maybe he was waiting for Buhari to renovate it after renovating the one in Katsina and Maiduguri and Kano and Kaduna and Sokoto and ....in short Shame!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Can see my room. That is the clear picture of the state of house officers and interns in Fmc yenagoa or even worse! We repaint and try to make the interior better we can't be changing roofs and decorating outside in a place we are going to stay for just a year. If the hospital or federal government can't do anything about it, it's not our place to.

Anonymous said...

BTW it's a federal Hospital not state!!! So stop calling on the state government! The quarters of the state hospital is up to standard!!!!

Anonymous said...

The pictures are of buildings marked for demolition to be replaced by state of the art accommodation and sport facilities. Pictures are not always a true representation of facts especially when concocted for the wrong motive.

Its funny how people think. We'r looking at terrible living conditions of doctors who are providing health services and you are talking about how dirty ijaw people are? I wonder how we want to go forward in this country if we can't address one issue at a time.

PDP share the money! Lol, PDP party don't mean well for Nigeria they are bad.

chizzy said...

I actually stayed there for 1yr but I tried to make my apartment as comfortable as I could. We can help ourselves sometimes to do d much we can esp in our environ. This is a federal Hospital so it has nothing to do with d state Governor. God Help Us.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1:17, you are very stupid. Doctors are the highest paid in civil service. Therefore they shuld treat patients free and renovate govt properties.
While politicians that are the poorest shuld spend the money allocated for health. I hear you!

If this is true then it's really really sad, no one deserves to be treated like this. The question though is why are we so wicked to ourselves? Governors cannot pay salaries yet stockpile dollars at home smh. Something has to change and it's not just up to Buhari!

Is it not rather saddening that a true story like this that was meant to whip up sympathy for the doctors residing here along with the pharmacists and lab scientists (all graduate interns), has been greeted with stifling disregard and reproach from a management headed ironically by doctors, who just finished a monologue of a meeting with the house officers, reigning abuses and threats . Even going as far as stating that employment would only be for indigenes hence forth, and yet the same man would clamour for true federalism and one Nigeria. He threatened never to employ any of the doctors particularly either during their youth service or afterwards as long as he is still the M.D., for one reason... because this picture was posted by someone, May be a staff or even a passerby. When would medical doctors begin to support their own and stop this military attitude they use to cover up illegitimate actions. It's a huge disgrace.

So you want to demolish a fully occupied building, abi? Are you just paid to write something or you can verify that the building is marked for demolishing and that there are no occupants. Because not only are these buildings occupied there's overcrowding according to the WHO standard. Massive overcrowding.

Anonymous said...

Exactly!!!!!!!!
A completely useless man.

This is sincerely shameful of our irresponsible, callous, heartless and clueless government. And yet they can squander money on elections and other irrelevant programs but can't do the needful. One of d assumed foster daughter of the former president wedded some years back and attracted 60 new vehicles as gifts aside other gifts. And those misguided philanthropist who also donated millions and billions for GEJ campaign couldn't donate such to renovate this? Even APC or other parties can't be exonerated from this blame. It shows what a disappointing and bad example some leaders in this generation have set for others to follow.

Yes o!!! I work there, and i tell you for years now, this is were the house officers, pharmacy and laboratory science interns reside. Infact, you have to bribe the admin ppl incharge of accomodation to get a place there and truth is you are left with no choice but to stay there because the job is one that needs you to be around at all times and there are no apartments around the area for rent around the area bcos its the govt house area. the three storey building they claim to be under construction has remained the same since i started work here (over a year now) nothing has been added infact, its jst an abandoned project if you ask me. and to worsen matas, the MD of the hospital instead of taking a more logical and human approach to deal with the mata of the pics, took to insulting and humiliating the innocent young doctors that have been slugging it out there. My mouth lacks words to say because if i say anything, e go reach dat man body. we complain so much about our government and yet when giving such positions, we end up doing worse things than them... lemme tell you, this MD na pastor o... Even the hell spawn HCS na pastor too o. yet all dey do is intimidate and make life miserable for the poor helpless emloyees like we are under a military regime. The man said he wont employ any of the doctors currently staying there as long as he is MD o.... out right victimization when we all are clamouring for rulers that are fair and just. i weep for this country... if pastors can be doing all these, then who can we look to as examples? God help us.... Am saying all this bcos am very disappointed and ashamed of the heads of that institution!!!

"Photos on the new structures for resident doctors in FMC, Yenagoa are uploaded as a rejoinder to the ugly post on ‘where house officers stay in FMC, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State’ now being circulated on the Internet. FMC, Yenagoa is rapidly developing and replacing its inherited structures for quality healthcare service delivery and training of medical professionals including resident doctors. It is unfortunate that the person(s) who uploaded the previous photos did so to paint the image of the hospital black. For want of a balance post, he/she ought to have captured the ongoing state government intervention twin 2-storey ultra-modern house officers’ structures now near completion and other ongoing projects in the hospital. Even the MD of the hospital is presently occupying one of the old structures being replaced. Part of the internal road of the hospital with new structures on both sides is uploaded just to give whoever is reading this post a brief idea of the giant developmental strides of the hospital. The point must be made that these doctors earn fat monetized salaries with in-built accommodation allowance but chose to stay in those quarters marked down for demolition and replacement. Therefore, they have no moral right whatsoever to do what they did because as the saying going goes, ‘he that must go to equity must do so with clean hands’. Anyone who cares to visit FMC, Yenagoa can do so to verify the above facts." You can click on the link below to see the photos of the new structures being erected for house officers in FMC, Yenagoa near completion. https://plus.google.com/112363623237009286621/posts/FLRq7uxxsJg
