I thought the first lady had been sent on training to polish her up sometime last year? Not so sure after watching this video. This is the first time really listening to her and I can say now that all the broadcasts of her "missiles" were not exxaggerated. It is well with Nigeria. The First Lady is not an official position. She should not be addressing the nation on this important issue. She is not only clueless about it, she has no comportment or grace. For those of you making fun of and criticizing the first lady for speaking the way she does, I have one thing to say to you, you all are idiots. I can bet with everything I have, that she's better than most of you. It's always easy to stay behind a computer and write rubbish, but when the chips are down, you will be found grossly inadequate. First Lady or not, she has earned every right to speak the way she does. Fluency in English and the ability to speak in rhethorical flourishes does not make a good first lady neither does it make a good citizen, after all, English is nothing but a borrowed language. We should be very much ashamed of ourselves that we are still conducting the affairs of this country in English.

For me, these are the important points:
1. We should pray for the well-being of the missing girls and encourage the efforts of our security agencies
2. The pressure on government by civil society for more effective action on security should continue
3. All those criticizing the First Lady should have a rethink. We already know that this woman does not speak well. No need flogging a dead horse. While we leave her communication aides to keep doing their job, let's not claim she is the worst public personality there is. Would we do better or speak better if we were in her shoes?
