Not bothered about it,am all about the 29 innocent children that lost their lives.

Why are they celebrating nigeria's centenary? I know billions of naira will be wasted on this fiasco. Ordinary I would have expected the the govt to declare 3days of mourning for victims of these sect's massacre and put calls to loved ones who lost pupils of the last slaughtering, over 300 lives have been lost from the beginning of this year thanks to BH. Why can't the military have surveillance cameras in all LGA in these powerless states, helicopters patrolling troubled areas from time to time, lay ambush for this marauders parading as devils and having potent intelligence teams? God bless Nigeria

Its really sad , that the party must go on, despite the 29 innocent lives that were lost. We should rather be pondering and not celebrating, cos if u ask me i will say there is nothing to celebrate about; is it the high level of corruption, insecurity, unemloyment etc.smh.

Ndi apari. . . Spending money on celebration when the citizens have no basic amenities, boko haram is still uncurbed and 20 billion dollars is still "missing". . . We all know this is the tactics of the nigerian govt(especially when elections r approaching). . They find some flimsy trivialities to distract the masses from the real issues on ground. . . We must start to show them that we will not be deceived anymore. .we should show up at d venue with placarda and stage a protest that day!!!!!!!!

Also they list of people who they plan to confer honors on include queen elizabeth, lugard and sani abacha. . . See how they r trying to bring shame on the whole country. . ."honoring" evil colonialists and military tyrants who stole from us. .. . .don't be surprised if you hear that the govt wants to honor shekau & other boko haram generals 4 being advocates and senator yerima for being an advocate for gender equality. . .

The crazy government celebrating when innocent lives were recently lost?

And Aunty Linda if this is a paid post, you are also part of the problem of this country for showcasing this craziness

If this is not a paid post, thank you for bringing to light govt's priority in the wake of the recent Boko Haram attacks, cos at least people get to know that the govt cares more about needless celebration than fighting for the helpless citizen

So a forensic look into the mail by Feyi Fawehinmi and Nana Nwachukwu as seen by the word documents linked the document sent to Mr Reno Omokri, the Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media.
Increased Tempo of Boko Haram/Terrorist Activity in the Wake of the Sanusi Saga
In the wake of the saga involving the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, there has been an increase in the tempo of terrorist activities carried out by the Islamic Terrorist sect, Boko Haram.
Taken together with some historical facts, there is a strong case that this increase in tempo and other activities are not coincidental.
The following Timelines may throw some light on the likely linkages;
February 20th 2014: President Goodluck Jonathan suspends Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

February 20th 2014: Boko Haram attacks Bama town killing at least 47, wounding many and destroying houses.
February 23rd 2014: Boko Haram attacks Konduga Local Government, destroying houses, and allegedly killing scores of rural dwellers.
February 24th 2014: Borno State Governor’s convoy allegedly attacked by gunmen.
February 25th 2014: Boko Haram attacks Federal Government College, Buni Yada, in Yobe State, killing at least 29 students as they slept.

History

It is a historical fact that Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was implicated in the Gideon Akaluka beheading affair of 1995 and was subsequently arrested in Kano and detained by the Abacha administration in Sokoto, Sokoto State.
Sanusi was released after the intervention of (amongst others) Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab. Alhaji Mutallab used his influence to place Sanusi comfortably in the banking sector beginning with the United Bank for Africa from where he moved to First Bank where he (Mutallab) was chairman. Malam Sanusi rose within the ranks, aided by his relationship with Mutallab, until he was nominated by President Yar’adua and confirmed by the senate as the Governor of the CBN in 2009.

It is pertinent to note two incidences that cannot be coincidences. The son of Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab (Farouk Abdul Mutallab) eventually entered into infamy when he was arrested and tried for attempting to detonate an under wear bomb on a Northwest Airlines flight into America. Farouk Abdul Mutallab became radicalized after he had gone to study Sharia and Islamic studies in Yemen in 2009.

This was exactly the same trajectory earlier taken by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who schooled at the International University of Africa in Khartoum, Sudan in the mid 1990s while Osama Bin Laden was also a resident of the city.
Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab appears to be a recurring decimal in the life of Sanusi and the unifying factor appears to be their passion for an Islamic world order. For example, one of Sanusi’s first act as Central Bank Governor was to begin the push for Islamic banking which culminated in the establishment of the first Islamic bank in Nigeria, Jaiz Bank. Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab is the Managing Director of this bank.
Given the quantum of funds that were appropriated by the Sanusi led CBN on non banking related activities and donations, and the strong desire that he and Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab have for proselytizing Islam as well as their circumstantial links to terror (Sanusi via Gideon Akaluka and Mutallab via his son) it is not such a leap for them to facilitate the activities of terrorists.
We’ve been trying to reach Malam Sanusi Lamido to respond to some of these allegations as they bother on national security..

Another display of the insensitivity of our society's elite! Almost 1000 people killed in just the month of February and they are still planning a centenary celebration? When the nation independence and unity are at its most vulnerable, they are spending millions for a useless celebration that only the elite will benefit from! What a crock of nonsense.

So you have 'HIGH SECURITY ' for foreign dignitaries coming into your nation but no high security for then innocent people being killed.
So those lives that were lost don't mean anything ?
This centenary rubbish should have been postponed.
