Goodnight Pain. "thieves, thieves" he screamed, it was almost funny. Not until more voices joined the chorus as they screamed and shouted on us. We could have ran at least to save our lives, but our intentions were genuine and little did we know how the day would end. From a handful of young men shouting and throwing questions at us, it escalated to a crowd of angry mob. There was no way we could escape this one, so we calmed down. They pushed us around and then stripped us all. These men pulled us pants down, we were more than embarrassed, the whole community watched, I recognized few faces from the crowd. Obviously they were so afraid to say "stop" then the beating started, I wished it to be just a nightmare. But it was real, these men were determined. They dropped heavy rocks on our heads, they pounded our faces with large planks, blood covered our eyes, they matched and kicked us right on our bleeding nostrils, we couldn't breathe.
"Bring tire" one of the men repeated, until they brought the tires. "Oh God!" We watched the crowd watch us, we raised hands of plea, we couldn't speak, Some hid, some shot videos and took pictures. there was no one to stop this. This was the point we knew it was over. We felt pain, helpless and hopeless. I thought of my siblings, I wondered how my mum would take this. She would fall apart. I begged God to hold her for me, comfort and make her strong for me, I prayed same for my friends. Then we started crying, we cried together. the tears gave us headaches. We looked up high, the sky was still. Rings of tires landed on our necks, they kept hitting us, but we were numb already. They set us ablaze. We rolled around, tried to reach for each other, I wondered who would give up first, the fire burned our bodies. it hurt, it hurt and then it hurt. But suddenly the pain stopped, Then I couldn't hear any other thing, but silence. I thanked God. the pain was over and Gods glory was revealed. Goodnight pain. RIP ALUU#4:

Have the police in that community also been arrested? I do not believe that they would not have been aware of these young men lynching. As a result they should also be held cupable even more than the other villagers who were standing by because they had the very easy capacity to stop what was happening.
I am also wondering why the boy who was allegedly owing money to the murdered boys has not been identified. He is the instigator of this whole mess and also had it in his power to stop the lynching but chose to remain silent.
This story is a nightmare to all reponsible parents (responsible because the people killing those boys are also parents) out there because you can never totally monitor the whereabouts of your children. What started out as a simple debt collection visit ended horribly.
RIP young men, we only pray that your deaths will not be in vain and that it will be flare that will ignite a positive change for our country.

Saw this piece yesterday and was really touched.The writer i wud say aptly put the pains and emotions of these boys well on paper.Nigeria has really got talent.i only wish the cancer that is eating deep into the womb of Nigeria would let young writers,musicians etc evolve and lend their voices in changing this world and their generation.

I have never commented on this blog, but this one, i have too. it is very painful and sad. throughout this week, i have not bn myself, wen i am walking, i am thinking of those student, wat they wen thru, wen they were beating them up... wen they burnt them alive... the last two standing..... i pitied the post.... i have just bn staring at my spouse and just imagining..... he didnt see the video, i saw it, and anytime he slips wit me, i am not always there, my mind is gone. i wish sometim could just have happenned before they burnt them and rushed them to the hospital. i tot abt ugonna, how he struggled for his life... i saw his head break.... as i am writing this, i am weeping, i hope i would overcome this becos i cant slip alone in the nite.....i was just hoping wen they were beating them, they were confessing their sins. and may God accept their soul....

Linda, Am actually in utter disbelief that MTN/Vanguard news monthly could actually post a link of the video of the killing of these kids. Are they that hungry? or that shameless? these boys have suffered enough and we all have been traumatized enough. Let's assume the people have lost their values. Am I to believe that Corporate Nigeria are now just money poachers at everyone's expense?

Linda, I woke up to the MNS/ Vanguard News Monthly on my phone this morning 12th October, 2012 only to find that they have provided a link to the video of the Aluu4 killings. Could Corporate Nigeria be that shameless, lets assume they are hungry? Haven't these boys suffered enough? Or Are we not traumatized enough? that video is actually very very traumatizing and i beg u to please bring this to fore until it gets to the management of those silly organizations poaching for publicity at everyone's expense.

This is JUST very SAD, as I read the article, I was almost in tears..How do u console their mothers? What right words do u have to say to them? How do you justify this barbaric act..Every passing day, I think of these young lads, and it breaks my heart..These were innocent teenagers that were murdered in cold blood..Just to prove what? This is very difficult for mothers to watch, read and even say a word to, but from the bottom of my heart as a mother who is training children at moment, i say to those involved in this that they will never go unpunished, as they will not leave to eat the fruit of their labour. even as grown up and strong as i tot i am, this still brought tears down my face after 1 week! never in all my life have i seen such brutallity.
hmmm...it seems like a dream, but it isnt. It happened. sometimes, i prefer to think it all a lie/bad dream/nightmare, but i cant kid/pretend anymore. I ask myself over again "are we really still human?" How???? My heart bleeds for the families and all affected, but God is on the throne.
