"When I took office on the 6th of May, 2010, we had only 1 airline operating direct flights between Nigeria and The U.S. Today, due to improvements we made in the nation's aviation sector with the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria Project (TRACON) and the Category 1 certification 2 airlines, Continental and United are commencing direct flights bringing the number of airlines connecting us direct from the U.S to 3." What is wrong with these people? Why are they always setting wrong priorities? I'm sure if he had redirected his efforts into improving the experience on local flights, he could have improved the local aviation industry....
Shewwwwww
na wetin we dey ask from u be that?. is that the needful
Awesome! It's about time we have some market competition. Delta's prices are insane.
Like that is the development we need- majority of the nigerian population can't afford a decent meal and he's talking about direct flight to the US, where we are not welcomed
That's nice that Delta now has some competition.
Yes, there are now 3 direct flights between Nigeria and US; they are: Arik, Delta and United. United Airline took over Continental Airline.
As usuak, GEJ is clueless... The 3 airlines are:
Arik
United/Continental (one airline)
Delta
I guess he just got fed talking points, and rehashed them without even bothering to do his own independent confirmation.

I think, it is high time to send all the PDP members away from Nigeria Politics bcos they are clueless, wot is this new has to do with standardisation of Nigeria Economy, those things dat are paramount to citizens aren't available e.g roads, water,Electricity,Good Health center etc.
Linda... can you plz help us to paste the scenerio btw Sanusi and National House of Assembly? Sanusi and House of Assembly were antagonising each other concerning the money being taken by National Assembly bcos Sanusi accused them dat 25% of Nigeria BUdget is going to the pocket of Senators & Rep members and we are expecting Nigeria to reach the Greater height.
You can follow the link bellow to see the reason while Nigerians are living in abject of poverty due to the selfish interest of Politicians

Anonymous @ 9.01 AM, I see your point but this is not the place to bring out your point- this particular section of Linda's place refers to flights between Nigeria and US. While this is a remarkable achievement, I would be much happier if the director general pays more attention to local flights where there is more room for competition. This attention could also include improving services between Nigeria and the West African region as this is where we really need to strengthen our links rather than with the US. How many of us can afford to travel to the US? If you add the cost of a US plane ticket to the cost of obtaining a US visa and compare that to going to West African destinations, you would be amazed. Also, Americans do not want us in their country, so why the hype about the number of flihts there? I think the time has come to focus on regional issues, including improving economic, socio-cultural and political ties with our West African brothers as there is a lot more potential there!
Clueless GEJ
How do we get the visa?
