They have orphanages, they have drug rehabilitation centers, they have homes for prostitutes undergoing reformation and transition back to normal society, in all these afore-mentioned places, the feeding, accommodation, sponsoring of education for the orphans right up to university for those who are still there up till that age, medical treatments, drugs, facility bills e.g. electricity/generator, water, maintenance, the staff wages, including trained and quality professionals, including also the facilitators at the drug rehab centers and reformed prostitutes centers who as part of the programmes come to teach classes from motivational speaking, self-development, life coaching, and vocational skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, bead-making, shoe-making, soap making, not forgetting the materials and equipment used by each participant in these classes, then the mental health professionals, psychologists and psychiatrists whose services and care are usually needed apart from the other standard medical doctors, and then the care for the prostitutes who may be pregnant to the safe delivery of their child/children, the efforts made at the end of these programmes to re-unite the former drug addicts and the former prostitutes with their estranged families, whom often they have had no contact with for years, the money spent on transportation and accommodation most times to make this possible, the seed money/capital given to these graduands to start up their businesses, the money spent on phone calls and visits over the years after they have graduated and left to check up on them and their progress and welfare, the assistance given to them even after they have left the various homes/centers and programmes when they hit rough patches or have celebrations, their celebrations e.g weddings, naming ceremonies, graduation from university, etc that are fully sponsored by the churches, the staff and teachers and medical personnel they knew, who worked with, lived with, taught them at these homes and centers and who stand as their family, taking aso-ebi, and doing all that family should do, at these celebratory events of their lives, etc, etc, etc, all these things are paid for by the churches, run by the churches; all the battles they have to fight going against bureaucratic red tape, bureaucratic stumbling-blocks and resistance put in their way by hostile governments in various states and territories within Nigeria and abroad, state governments that will not give them land to build, that revoke lands purchased by them under previous governments, that disqualify building plans approved by previous governments, that slash and cut down and scale down their building plans for their various programmes and community initiatives to but a fraction, whilst they approve, encourage to increase and even grant more than what was requested to the practitioners of their own religion; provisions for the elderly, welfare programmes for single mothers, free healthcare at church-owned health centers, medical and evangelistic outreaches to rural communities even the state governments don't know physically, such outreaches where trained medical doctors consult with and treat all who come, drugs are freely prescribed and given out, clothes, shoes, bags are freely distributed to children, women, men, school items, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, etc, cooked food/hot meals are given to all, children and adults alike and non-perishable items like noodles, garri, sugar, rice, etc are given as take-aways.
Prisons across the country feel the presence of churches in the generous food supplies, medical supplies, drugs, equipment, and so many other essential resources that they receive; in fact, for many, churches are their partners in the work because apart from the effective emotional and psychological and spiritual help and healing the prisoners receive through the evangelical, preaching ministry of these churches, the prisons also rely on the material resources supplied by the churches as government often fails them and this is very dangerous. There is a major prison in the northern part of the country that a certain church regularly, every month, slaughters cows, cooks hot meals and packages them, and goes to distribute substantial portions to each prisoner; along with each hot, ready-to-eat cooked meal, each prisoner is also given a medium-sized bag of garri and small bag or packet of sugar, along with his/her own large plastic cup and spoon, at each feeding. In that particular prison, the uniforms worn by each prisoner were provided by that church, the mattress slept on by each prisoner were provided by that church, the church provided buckets for each prisoner, they give them so very much, and it is not a haphazard thing; it is a commitment on the part of that church and an official part of their budget every year, and they do it every month. The Comptroller in charge of that prison confessed that if not for that pentecostal church, more than once, they would have been in a very bad situation as the funds did not come from government. Even in the church-owned schools, there are scholarships for brilliant, and for a number of indigent students. Quality education costs money, however.
Churches do very many things for the poor, for the welfare of the community, but just like they do not advertise their "private jets", they do not advertise and shout about these programmes either.
And, on the private jets matter, I think if people outside their denominations knew or had even a small idea of the schedule, especially, the travel schedule of these General Overseers, and then, secondly, faced and acknowledged the reality of what crowd control logistical nightmares arise when these servants of God appear anywhere in public, including airports and on airplanes, they would understand the very real need for private air travel. No one remembers they are a big man or big woman on sighting someone like Pastor E. A. Adeboye, for example. EVERYBODY, rich and poor alike,wants a prayer, wants him to lay hands on them, speak a blessing, wants to see him privately to discuss a problem and be prayed for, or wants to put a blessing in his hand so that they and their family will be blessed or to say thank you to God for something. At the airports, on the plane, including in First Class, it is a steady, sometimes uncontrollable stream. When he gets up from his seat, people rush to sit in it and pray and receive the anointing for their blessings. That these people, including barren women, always come in public to give their testimonies, just perpetuates such practices. And these men are human beings, with physical bodies, and minds that need rest just like the rest of us. They, also, have challenges and problems they need God to overcome for them and they need quiet time for themselves with their God also. They need time to prepare themselves and rest for whatever they are travelling for. Often they travel and are ministering and mounting the podium straight from the airport or just an hour or two after arrival, and their schedule whilst they are abroad is jam-packed.
Think of any bank CEO that you know, any CEO of any multinational, and think of how often that CEO travels. And that is the General Overseer of an organisation that at best may have presence in a few other countries in Africa and in London, for the multinational, in some countries and continents of the world. The RCCG, for example, has presence in 192 countries of the world, on every continent, it has presence in countries where Nigeria has no embassy. It has perhaps 40, 000 parishes or more now. And the CEO (under JESUS CHRIST) is not supposed to travel to go and check up on them, give them moral support, counsel them, add boost to the organisation/church's programmes in that region?
Sometimes, we just need to think rationally and objectively and use ALL the available facts open to us.

If General Overseers and churches own private jets, so what? Most big churches have branches in many countries all over the world and they are usually visited and taken care of by the Nigerian headquarters of the church. If they calculate the ticket money that the General Overseer, Pastors and ministers spend on travelling out every year and find out that it is cost effective to get a jet, is it not better? I'm a living testimony of miracles from Deeper Life Bible Church! Miracles that not even money can be used for the healing. They have orphanages, they have drug rehabilitation centers, they have homes for prostitutes undergoing reformation and transition back to normal society, in all these afore-mentioned places, the feeding, accommodation, sponsoring of education for the orphans right up to university for those who are still there up till that age, medical treatments, drugs, facility bills e.g. electricity/generator, water, maintenance, the staff wages, including trained and quality professionals, including also the facilitators at the drug rehab centers and reformed prostitutes centers who as part of the programmes come to teach classes from motivational speaking, self-development, life coaching, and vocational skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, bead-making, shoe-making, soap making, not forgetting the materials and equipment used by each participant in these classes, then the mental health professionals, psychologists and psychiatrists whose services and care are usually needed apart from the other standard medical doctors, and then the care for the prostitutes who may be pregnant to the safe delivery of their child/children, the efforts made at the end of these programmes to re-unite the former drug addicts and the former prostitutes with their estranged families, whom often they have had no contact with for years, the money spent on transportation and accommodation most times to make this possible, the seed money/capital given to these graduands to start up their businesses, the money spent on phone calls and visits over the years after they have graduated and left to check up on them and their progress and welfare, the assistance given to them even after they have left the various homes/centers and programmes when they hit rough patches or have celebrations, their celebrations e.g weddings, naming ceremonies, graduation from university, etc that are fully sponsored by the churches, the staff and teachers and medical personnel they knew, who worked with, lived with, taught them at these homes and centers and who stand as their family, taking aso-ebi, and doing all that family should do, at these celebratory events of their lives, etc, etc, etc, all these things are paid for by the churches, run by the churches; all the battles they have to fight going against bureaucratic red tape, bureaucratic stumbling-blocks and resistance put in their way by hostile governments in various states and territories within Nigeria and abroad, state governments that will not give them land to build, that revoke lands purchased by them under previous governments, that disqualify building plans approved by previous governments, that slash and cut down and scale down their building plans for their various programmes and community initiatives to but a fraction, whilst they approve, encourage to increase and even grant more than what was requested to the practitioners of their own religion; provisions for the elderly, welfare programmes for single mothers, free healthcare at church-owned health centers, medical and evangelistic outreaches to rural communities even the state governments don't know physically, such outreaches where trained medical doctors consult with and treat all who come, drugs are freely prescribed and given out, clothes, shoes, bags are freely distributed to children, women, men, school items, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, etc, cooked food/hot meals are given to all, children and adults alike and non-perishable items like noodles, garri, sugar, rice, etc are given as take-aways.

In that particular prison, the uniforms worn by each prisoner were provided by that church, the mattress slept on by each prisoner were provided by that church, the church provided buckets for each prisoner, they give them so very much, and it is not a haphazard thing; it is a commitment on the part of that church and an official part of their budget every year, and they do it every month. The Comptroller in charge of that prison confessed that if not for that pentecostal church, more than once, they would have been in a very bad situation as the funds did not come from government. Even in the church-owned schools, there are scholarships for brilliant, and for a number of indigent students. Quality education costs money, however.
Churches do very many things for the poor, for the welfare of the community, but just like they do not advertise their "private jets", they do not advertise and shout about these programmes either.
And, on the private jets matter, I think if people outside their denominations knew or had even a small idea of the schedule, especially, the travel schedule of these General Overseers, and then, secondly, faced and acknowledged the reality of what crowd control logistical nightmares arise when these servants of God appear anywhere in public, including airports and on airplanes, they would understand the very real need for private air travel. No one remembers they are a big man or big woman on sighting someone like Pastor E. A. Adeboye, for example. EVERYBODY, rich and poor alike,wants a prayer, wants him to lay hands on them, speak a blessing, wants to see him privately to discuss a problem and be prayed for, or wants to put a blessing in his hand so that they and their family will be blessed or to say thank you to God for something. At the airports, on the plane, including in First Class, it is a steady, sometimes uncontrollable stream. When he gets up from his seat, people rush to sit in it and pray and receive the anointing for their blessings. That these people, including barren women, always come in public to give their testimonies, just perpetuates such practices. And these men are human beings, with physical bodies, and minds that need rest just like the rest of us. They, also, have challenges and problems they need God to overcome for them and they need quiet time for themselves with their God also. They need time to prepare themselves and rest for whatever they are travelling for. Often they travel and are ministering and mounting the podium straight from the airport or just an hour or two after arrival, and their schedule whilst they are abroad is jam-packed.

Think of any bank CEO that you know, any CEO of any multinational, and think of how often that CEO travels. And that is the General Overseer of an organisation that at best may have presence in a few other countries in Africa and in London, for the multinational, in some countries and continents of the world. The RCCG, for example, has presence in 192 countries of the world, on every continent, it has presence in countries where Nigeria has no embassy. It has perhaps 40, 000 parishes or more now. And the CEO (under JESUS CHRIST) is not supposed to travel to go and check up on them, give them moral support, counsel them, add boost to the organisation/church's programmes in that region?
Sometimes, we just need to think rationally and objectively and use ALL the available facts open to us.

If General Overseers and churches own private jets, so what? Most big churches have branches in many countries all over the world and they are usually visited and taken care of by the Nigerian headquarters of the church. If they calculate the ticket money that the General Overseer, Pastors and ministers spend on travelling out every year and find out that it is cost effective to get a jet, is it not better?
