Kogi election: APC to conduct fresh primary for Audu's substitute

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun says the party will be conducting a fresh primary election where a substitute for late Prince Abubakar Audu of Kogi state would emerge for the December 5th supplementary election. Audu died suddenly after INEC declared the Saturday Novernmer 21st state governorship election inconclusive. He was buried yesterday November 23rd.

In a statement today, INEC said APC would be allowed to field a replacement for late Audu for the completion of the election.

Here we go again with Nigeria not sticking to its own laws to help maintain order.

The Constitution provides for what should happen in the event a something goes wrong in the election process.

The APC should not be replacing Audu. That's what his deputy is there for. Just like if something happens to Buhari, Osinbanjo ought to take his place.

What the APC should be doing is electing a new deputy.
