has berated Senate president Bukola Saraki for closing the senate so
that other senate members could follow him to his CCT hearing. She says it's selfish of him. See more

Thats true. It is just like a president declaring public holiday because he has to travel. What is the reason for having a deputy senate president, if he can't take charge of the senate in the absence of the senate president?
Most of the comments on this blog simply demonstrate everything that is wrong with Nigeria. A well meaning member citizen of Nigeria RIGHTUFLLY expresses her concerns about Saraki's behaviour yet she is berated for doing so. This is why our leaders believe they cannot be held accountable for their misdeeds. I'm reading comments such as ''mind your business'', ''what is your own issue there?'' etc. Excuse you! Matters relating to Nigeria, are of every Nigerian citizen's concern. Mrs Oby Ezekwenesli is very much within her rights to call Saraki's selfish acts into question and to highlight the dangers of personalising what is intended to be a democratic institution- the senate. Public officers are called to SERVE the people and to prioritise the interests of NIGERIA and NIGERIANS. Your comments simply reflect your ignorance of this basic fact.
Why should Saraki halt senate proceedings simply because he is being charged to court? What exactly is the purpose of Saraki being accompanied by dozens of senators? To intimidate the tribunal? It really is disgraceful.

Everyone cursing her out clearly don't understand what a Senator's job description is. These people abandon the job their constituents (you and I) elected them to do instead they are busy following this guy around. These people are elected to represent their communities, (as in our mouth piece) on the federal level, not follow Saraki around like hungry flies. In other civilized nations this will never happen, Saraki will either be pressured to resign or find a way to conduct Senate while he sort out his demons. How will y'all feel if Buhari shuts down the country because he's going on vacation? That's precisely what Saraki is doing; he's holding every official work the Senate in suppose to be doing hostage. We are not on trial, Nigeria is not on trial so why are State affairs adjourned so Saraki can go answer for his criminal act? Pls think before you talk unless you want to tell me you support such insolence!
