Chibok schoolgirls: Nigeria police, SSS say at least 276 still missing

According to Premium Times, the Police Command in Borno state and the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday May 1st had a joint press conference at the headquarters of the Borno State Police Command where they stated that the actual number of missing girls is 276 and not 234 as earlier reported and could even be more.

Speaking at the press conference yesterday, the Borno state Police Commissioner, Tanko Lawan said the figure they have is the authentic number as they have carefully gone round the Chibok village and its environ to collate the names of girls that have gone missing since April 14th when the school was attacked by the Boko Haram men. Continue...
"It is really difficult to say the actual number of girls that were abducted. This is because, students from other secondary schools within the catchment area were deployed to GGSS Chibok to write their final year examinations due to the peculiar security challenges in Borno State,” the police boss said.
‪“The students were drawn from schools in Izge, Lassa, Ashigashiya and Warabe A. and that is why after the unfortunate incident, there were various flying numbers as to the actual number of girls that were taken away.
“The fact is that the number may likely change, especially when parents from some of the villages come forth and report the disappearance of their daughters. Most importantly, it is not the number that matters because all the girls are very important and we have to find them.‬
‪"There is serious collaboration between various security agencies at all levels towards rescuing the girls,” Mr. Lawan said.
Commissioner Umar advised parents to come forward with the names and identities of their missing daughters so as to aid rescue efforts. He announced phone lines that have been made available for well meaning Nigerians to call if they have any useful information that would help facilitate the rescue efforts

The numbers provided are: +2348075897377;  +23481777309; and +2348036121490.

This people no serious, which one be say students from other schools came to join them dem no get register? Infact no be only d president get fault o! Imagine d number might change very incompetent set of people. They cant give accurate number of all the girl telling parents to come forward, Nonsense!!!!

julz said...

So they mean doesn't have a register or list of students that registered for the exams with their school or what? If girls were deployed from other schools, didn't they take down their names and numbers? This means they don't even know the number of students in the school in the first place and they wouldn't have noticed if something other than BH happened. The school authority should be properly questioned. They make the whole thing sound untrue.

PROF said...

I feel 4 d girls and Only God knows wat they might be goin thru nw....D Lord wil comfort them and strenghten them...Our God neither sleeps nor slumber, am sure this challenge is 2 expose d BH's, their mentors, god fathers and sponsors.

Anonymous said...

Wait wait wait this people must be crazy are they now telling us that the school does not have a register that actually hv the name and number of students. So student just come without proper registration abi, even if they were from other schools. God help US.

How can the govt explain why the various security agencies can not go after the invaders immediately the girls where kidnapped, is it bcos no minister, senator, governors children were involved. This govt is a failure. MM

What kinda useless numbers are they coming up with daily??

THIS PEOPLE ARE FUNNY. THEY SHOULD ASK EL RUFAI AND APC MEMBERS WHERE THEY KEPT THE KIDS.I DONT THINK THEY ARE KIDNAPPED. ITS NOT EASY TO KIDNAPP 275 KIDS WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF INSIDERS.

Linda its painful that these girls have not been recovered but kema chekwe women leader pdp the busy body mother of Nateo c raised a question which i feel is not appropriate bearing in mind the agony the girls and their parents are passing through be that as it may she asked a vital question
she said does the school have that amount of enrolled girls in that school most schools in interior north and villages don't have up to 100 girls in their school the question that we are asking is do they have that amount of girls in the school or were the girls taken from a particular class if its a particular class then i beg to disagree i would point fingers at the principal as colluding with the Haramite killers but if the girls taken were from all classes in the school then we are safe to say they they mite be up to 200 and above i use the word mite may good lord bring them them home safely

Anonymous said...

And let's assume you are correct about El Rufai and APC. . How come the security agents on ground didn't notice the shipment of so many girls and arrest them.. are u suggesting that El Rufai and APC also paid security agents to look away

God please have mercy, Jesus please save Nigeria, Holyghost please expose the evil doers & the Boko Haram, Allah please heal our land - Y'all bunch of cretinous retards!

You should ask the Americans, whether it was Jesus that built their nation for them, you should ask the French, whether it was God took up arms & fought for them, you should ask the Germans, whether it was the Holy spirit that brought them out of chaos & poverty, you should ask the Saudi Arabians how their Country was developed.

Some illiterates who know nothing about power keep supporting & shielding our clueless GEJ. One thing is certain; as long as GEJ remains the President of this befuddled Nation, and as long as GEJ keeps playing politics with our lives with his Non Chalant attitude, these menace will never stop, infact Nigeria will soon descend into an irredeemable state of anarchy right before our eyes.

The Igbos are blindly backing GEJ just to get even with Nigerians because of the Biafran Civil War. The Hausas are totally against GEJ because they feel it's their turn to rule & dominate based on the power shift agreement signed between IBB & OBJ in 1999(believing ofcourse that they were short changed after Yaradua's demise). The Yorubas are observing & waiting for the highest bidder.

Conclusion: In the eventuality of a Military take over & cleansing which is very imminent, We will gladly embrace & support them while putting aside all sentiments in ridding Nigeria of these corrupt & aged-long vampires parading themselves as our leaders.

Afterall; A king, realizing his
incompetence, can either delegate or abdicate his duties. A father can do neither. If only sons could see the paradox, they would understand the dilemma.

The sins of the forefathers.....scaming people all over the world, hating on your very own when they work hard for what they have & hating on other countries when they get rid of the rubble. God is angry now. Do not blame the government.

Anonymous said...

Silly talk, since you don't know how to get the number, let me speak some sense into your brain. Meet the principals of all the schools that sent their pupils to Chibok to give you the number of pupils they sent. Collate all the numbers and subtract the number of the girls that are with their parents. That is how to get the closest figure dear Mr policeman........ Da illiterate chic

The present security challenges that this country is facing is a true testament that we do not have any force to defend this country in the face of a foreign attack. Absolutely none! We can delude ourselves for as long as we want, but the sad fact is that these terrorists have arrived abuja and are probably going to cause more havoc unless our security personnel start doing their job (if they still know how to). There are certainly some high placed individuals in the society that are harboring these terrorists and providing cover for them to do what they are doing. These people will have to be smoked out of their gold plated mansions.

So the principal of the school doesn't even know the number of students he has, so we can now see dat FG is not the only Problem we have in dis country, vry soon they ll add their missing cows nd goats to d number, there is more to what the eyes can see concerning these missing girls the truth ll come out soon. doubt if they are actually missing

NOW U ARE TALKING. I WANT TO ASK U. IN YOUR STATE WHERE YOU COME IS IT EASY FOR SOMEONE TO COME TO A STATE WHERE THEY DONT KNOW ANYBODY AND KIDNAPP 275 KIDS. ITS NOT POSSIBLE. IM TELLING U ITS AN INSIDE JOB AND EL RUFAI AND APC ISLAMIST EXTREMIST PARTY ARE AWARE OF WHAT HAPPENED. U CANT MOVE PEOPLE THAT MUCH WITHOUT CREATING AWARENESS. SO I THINK THEY ARE NOT KIDNAPPED

Anonymous said...

Are we for real in this Country???? If you do not have your basic facts - what then is the basis for your investigations

My observation exactly!!!! Why can't they just release the pictures of this missing girls or is that the parents of this children have been threatened not to use their children's picture as placard.....There is definitely got to be a way forward....and I heard some people arguing against the release of the pictures that the girls might be stigmatized. So I ask; Is it not better off than for them to be killed or be missing forever. Moreso, it's only a senseless person that will say rubbish about the girls.

PLEASE READ: THE MISSING 234 CHIBOK GIRLS NOW 276.

I have been pondering over this kidnap situation and something doesn't add up hence these questions. The students are said to be SSS3 students taking physics examination.
QUESTIONS:

1. Why are their names not yet published by the school, state government or WAEC?

2. Why are their pictures not over the media?

3. How come all 235 students are in SSS3 and all came to take Physics examination when the total number of students in the school is around 1200?

4. It was announced that the Borno state government gave N1m each to parents of the missing girls. If this is true,
(a) Why was this money given to their parents?
(B-) Was it as compensation for the kidnap or compensation for their deaths?

5. On Tuesday 29th April 2014, a senator from Borno said in the Senate that the girls had been taken out of the country to Chad, Niger and Cameroon and married off to their adoptors.
(a) How come this senator knows so much?
(B-) Who are their informants?

6. Why is the wife of the state governor organizing women to pressure FG in Abuja after the National Security Council has ordered the armed forces to use all state resources to secure the release of the adopted Girls?

7. I just wonder how 200+ girls can be kidnapped at once. How come we haven't seen those girls who they said have escaped on TV?

8. If the SS3 students are not up to 120 in a school of 1200, how is it possible 234 girls are missing?

9. Where are the school authorities?

10. Why haven't we seen any of them on TV?

We are not fools. WHO IS FOOLING WHO? I need objective answers please. Its time all Nigerians start asking questions than drawing conclusions. #selah.
