UK Border Agency initially rejected Roseline's appeal to remain in the UK after her transplant in 2009, saying 'the care of a foreign individual was the responsibility of their state of nationality'. Roseline's lawyers argued she would die within weeks if she was returned to Nigeria as she would never be able to afford the drugs that keep her alive.
The 49-year-old widow needs regular hospital checks and will have to take immuno-suppressant drugs for the rest of her life. Now she's free to stay in the UK and get free medical treatment.

Thank you lord
Nigeria's anticlimactical nature is so appalling! Our sudden change from an impressive start of developments in the late 80's to the present ludicrous style of government being run today is so nonsensical! Just look at a citizen of our country fighting like hell just to stay in other country, how sad!
Wow! Great, I'm happy for her

Lucky her, she knows that her being alive depends on her staying in UK and she fought for it n won. What a shame on our senate issue like how to improve the health sector of this nation is there for them to debate on, but they prefer to show to the world how unreasonable they are when it comes to girl child right. Yeye people.

Good for her! Nigeria a shameful country but still proud am a nigerian.
I just have this feeling that if the border agency read this it would sound like a triumph for immigrants and they would be pained.

Others keep trying!
Or find your 3k pounds , enter and jaaaa...hehehe
She's sharp plus lucky..
~D great anonymous!
I wish our leaders could borrow a leaf from this and provide not just free healthcare but quality healthcare. Despite the fact that the average Nigerian lives on less than a Dollar a day, healthcare is rather unaffordable.
Na wa 4 dis country o! smh
Owky, Normal! (OFFICIAL SWAGG said xo.
Good 4 her, wetin make her feel say she go die, make she thank God say them grant her visa else she 4 hang there mtcccch
I love Nigeria my county..God bless Nigeria
Nigeria as a country is a joke. Pathetic
Problem is, this woman is not really entitled to treatment under the NHS as she has never lived nor worked in the United Kingdom. The Home Office have now said they will appeal the decision. As for being on immuno suppressants for life, Linda, you are only on immuno suppressants until your body accepts the new organs
God bless 9ja.
Anon 2:23, U have to do ur research well, she actually needs to be on an immunosuppressive drug for life! So now who be the mumu? Mtcheeeeew!!!
Naija hospitals are pathetic.if a patient go for a checkup for an ailment, one will say it is typhoid.another will say it is malaria.the last will say it is diabetics.
Wrong! Do YOUR research. The body may accept the organ but that does not mean the antibodies will not know it is a foreign body. The DNA and genetic fingerprint of the organ does change just because the body accepted it. Ppl who've received transplants must suppress their immune systems for the rest of their life or deal with their body fighting it. I know at least one person in this situation. Also had a kidney transplant.
look at God :)
@Anon 2:23pm u do ur research well, u have to be on immunosuppressants for life cos ur immune system will never accept the kidney that's nt urs, failure to take d drugs and ur body will reject it. I am a pharmacist and i have dealt with many transplant patients
Let me just say she is lucky to have won the appeal to stay there and receive free medical treatment. Nevertheless, there is no place like home. Naija forever.
You are misinformed she will need it for the rest of her life... U are the mumu
Lucky her,but I don't think your free medication would last.
Hallelujah! Give Him glory!!
Good for her. Found myself in similar situation years back when I had surgery in England to cure my hypertension. Now with British passport in my hand, I have since burnt the Nigeria passport. There is no pretence where my allegiance lies. Nigeria remains one of the worst things to happen to humanity, except of course hell!!!

Wat a shame! D poor widow knws d situation in her country, she knws she cn hardly afford d medical bills dat wuld incur had she come back here, its a gud tin she has bin granted her request....Nigerian govt shuld take a cue 4rm dis, evryday dere r endless immigrants seekin 2 leave dis country, very soon,Nigeria wuld loose all her best 2 oda countries.let's continue 2 pray 4 dis country + it myt sound cruel but we nid 2 pray 4 d death of all dese leaders wo av refused 2 leave d mantle of leadership since d 1970s,dey r d ones killing dis nation....PRAY PEOPLE,PRAY!dis nation nids serious cleansing!
