There were reports last week that Nike Oshinowo's four year marriage to popular Lagos doctor, Dr Tunde Soleye was over and that she was in a new relationship with divorced son of Ooni of Ife, Prince Tokunbo Sijuade who she was allegedly seen kissing and hugging at the 60th birthday party of Senator Daisy Danjuma in Spain. Nike calls the report ridiculous and foolish. What she told Encomium magazine below...
I was a guest at the event. There were many respectable and responsible Nigerians at the party. I sat at on the table with Gen. Danjuma and Daisy, Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, two of the Chagoury brothers and their wives. Tokunbo was with a female friend and he was not even at out table! How can they write that I was kissing and hugging him in public, when there were respectable people around? Have they forgotten I have a husband? Can't I attend a party without silly insinuations being cooked up?

Obviously not gist for the masses - (use of names without verification to bring about libel charges on you) but just so you know Linda birds of a feather flock together - Daisy Danjuma formerly Daisy Omenai - Omenai being top notch at SPDC Nigeria (Shell Petroleum Development Company) - that is before his fatal helicopter crash on a work trip which saw him transferred to a hospital in Surrey England was in a coma for several years ( I went to visit in 1999) Still in that state when Daisy remarried Danjuma (Omenai's children and all). Nike moves in circles of the Nigerian Elite women who have the Hollywood/Californian wives ideal- 'Marry onwards and upwards'. Oh! the things I could tell you Linda :).
