Alleged police brutality: Baba Fryo to sue police for N50m damages

I'm sure you all heard that the once famous dance hall star was allegedly battered in the early hours of Monday August 20th by policemen from the Isashi police station, at Iyana Isashi, Ojo, Lagos.

Baba Fryo said he was beaten up by at least 5 police men after he tried to stop them from beating some ladies at a club he was performing at in the area.

After the beating, Baba Fryo was admitted in a hospital for many days where he received treatment for fractured waist, swollen eyes, and broken ankle.

The Denge Pose crooner has now employed the services of a lawyer and plans to sue the police for N50million in compensatory damages.

STFU! So he should keep queit about police brutality?.. That why pple and organizations get away with things in naija.let Baba fryso sue their ass(I pray he succeeds)if not they won't sit up and mend their ways.See baba suwe issue if he didn't sue(and succeeded) will NDLEA readjusted their processes? And bcos naija has weak legal structure that's why many pple are reluctant to file case against these organizations and indiduals. Look at western countries like U.S pple look for slightest opportunity to make money out organisation for their carelessness and negeligence bcos they have very strong legal structure. Go to an eatry and you a strand of human hair in your food, you see how will beg and pet you.they can even offer free food for a year just to save their ass. But for naija na sorry or "haba! Just commot am na, no be just hair" how I wish pple will continue this way(suing) to make bad management and pple sit up especially, hospitals and doctors even nurses... A colleague died(after a successfull CS) bcos of doctors carelessness again my close friend lost her (premature)baby bcos she was given wrong diagnosis of a her blood group(rhesus factor was -tive but was told she's +tive) hence her antibody start attacking d baby in her womb. Long and short is the baby was born prematurely but didn't make(died few hours later as d baby so now very ill). So I rest my case *Floetry in motion*

U dey craze. It takes more n more ppl lyk dis guy coming out 2 speak up n charge d corrupt system. Whether dey giv him d 50mil or not, hopefully dey will not want d police name 2 b dragged 2 d mud. Me n u can benefit 4rm d probable humility d police may learn 4rm dis. Wen sumtin bad is exposed, there's a lesser chance of reoccurence.

I don't think the nigerian police will give u that money so pls don't waste the small money u have fighting me !just rest for the matter

Nigerians r used to "make we dey suffer dey go". See wretched pples comments, can't believe Nigerians r saying this, wot typ of future r we hoping to get in this country or does he not av right to sue Nigerian police for d damage they've caused him. Sue them, fractured waist is not for easy in an adult + damage of pelvic organs which am sure is involved. To all those dt tag him wretched, lazy, n jobless, do u all knw wot, life is turn by turn, so let's watch out for ur turn. Mtschew

Baba fryo suing the police is not about the money, its about fighting for ur right. Its so sad that many Nigerians thinks its alright (one of those things) to be brutalized by the Police, it is so wrong. Everybody is talking bout the N50m, either telling fryo to go get it or abusing him for suing but only few people are passing any blame on the police. The Nigerian police needs to be sanitized and we Nigerians have got to stand up for our right.

He knws dey wnt give him 50 mill, @least by d tym dey cut d money down (if @ ol dey give him anytin) its goin to be a meaninful amount nt just peanunt, it simple strategy..

He maybe a failed musician but that doesn't give the police the right to brutalise him, it maybe you 2moro or someone you know, so watch What u say it might come bck to haunt you

Anonymous said...

All musicians in nigeria had better show some support for his move.Well done jere,he should have said 100m truly, enough is enough,d police are meant to protect us not harm us.

Anonymous said...

What do u mean by a failed musician seeking compensation?so he should swallow such?he is not a weakling okay. Are u taking sides wt d police?not to worry,u will hv a taste of police brutality to understand how this hurts.
