Ghanaians fighting in a plane cause an emergency landing

A United Airlines plane with 144 people aboard bound for Accra, Ghana, returned to Washington-Dulles International Airport for an emergency landing after a fight broke out between passengers just after midnight Sunday. The Washington Post, which  first reported the incident, reported that the fight began not long after takeoff when a passenger lowered his seat and a passenger behind him objected. They was an argument, a smack to head, then a fistfight, forcing the pilot to return to Dulles.

Hahahaha! If na Nigerians now, we for no hear word...lol Continue reading...

As they turned back, the United pilots dumped much of its fuel into the Atlantic as a safety precaution to lighten its weight on landing. A 767 can take off with 16,700 gallons of fuel, and for the flight of more than 5,000 miles to Accra, Ghana, it would have needed all of that. The full load of fuel weighs more than 57tons, and although a 767 can get that weight airborne, it can't land with it.

A spokesman at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Rob Yingling, according to Washington Post said members of the Dulles police force met the flight at the gate and officers determined that the incident didn’t warrant pressing any charges.

for real though, when i saw this story on yahoo home page, it just said passengers, now here it says "Ghanaians" what's up with the constant obsession over people's ethnicity or race. do you think where they come from necessarily defines them and why they had that argument? so what? everyone should do away with the labeling. i prefer the yahoo title to this one.
but as for the story in question, LOLOL. I know everyone was soooo upset! why couldn't these fools just shut up?

Actually the fight was between a Nigerian and a Ghanaian. It is alleged that the Nigerian was sitting in front of the Ghanaian and adjusted his seat to far back, making the Ghanaian uncomfortable. The Ghanaian asked if he could adjust his seat, but he refused. That is how the fight started.

pulease @ comment number two.. i dont hear you complaining when they say british or american.. it is just normal... it puts context into a story.. otherwise it would just be 2 people were fighting.. how boring will that story be.

lol @ the reason for the fight though.. lol no waste of time. its the wasted fuel that is paining me sef... and the fishes that would die as a result..

My question in all of this is? Is there any justification in reclining all the way and DO YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THE REQUEST TO lean up? I would like to see some comments on this so i know how to behave on the next Transatlantic flight myself! Comments please
